Who This Role Is For Youll probably love this job if you: • Take pride in producing high-quality work, • Enjoy leading people, • Show up on time and finish what you start, • Think ahead and plan your work, • Care about safety, respect, and professionalism, • Cut corners, • Avoid accountability, • Wait to be told what to do, • Only want to do your 8 and hit the gate Qualifications • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation, • 23 years of landscape experience (design/build preferred), • Previous leadership or crew lead experience, • Strong knowledge of landscape construction and horticulture, • Experience operating skid steers, excavators, and power tools, • Skilled in grading, wall construction, and patio installation, • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented, • Associate degree in Horticulture preferred, not required, • CDL Class A is a plus, not required, • Willingness to obtain required certifications (Pesticide Operator License, First Aid/CPR) Key Responsibilities This is a hands-on leadership role, not a clipboard position. • Lead and execute design/build landscape projects (planting, grading, drainage, hardscapes), • Work alongside and manage a crew of 13 team members, • Read plans, think ahead, and make smart field decisions, • Operate professional landscape equipment safely and efficiently, • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites, • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal teams, • Hold yourself and your crew to high standards of quality and professionalism, • Complete required daily documentation, • Plan and organize daily work to ensure labor, materials, and equipment are available, • Monitor job progress against estimated labor hours and materials, • Communicate production, scheduling, or budget concerns proactively Maintenance & Seasonal Responsibilities • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment, • Assist with winterization of equipment and shop tools, • Notify the Operations Manager of repair needs and coordinate service, • Assist with snow removal during winter months as needed, • Apply chemicals under the direction of a licensed Illinois pesticide applicator, • Attend company training sessions, safety meetings, and learning events, • Perform other duties as assigned Values Commitment This role is for individuals who take pride in their craft, value teamwork, act with integrity, and show initiative. Schedule & Pay • Full-time position, • Typical hours: 7:00 AM 4:30 PM (some projects may require longer days), • $21-$30 hourly with benefits, • Paid overtime for all hours over 40, • Only work Saturdays if you don't meet project deadlines during the week.
