Job Description Working Remote at your home office (with travel) or from our Tampa office on a hybrid schedule as part of our Finance Department, will handle project controls on multiple geotechnical and construction services projects. The Project Controls Analyst is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling project financial performance using Deltek VantagePoint. This role partners with Project Managers, Accounting, and Contracts to ensure projects are set up correctly, costs are recorded accurately, forecasts are reliable, and billing complies with FAR, contract, and client requirements. Key responsibilities include: Project Set-up and Structure Set up and maintain projects in Deltek VantagePoint, from qualified opportunities to contract close-out including: • Contract structure (phases, tasks, work breakdown structure), • Labor categories, billing terms, and revenue methods, • Budget, fee, and funding allocations, • Ensure project structures align with:, • Contract requirements (DOT, FAR, IDIQ, CPFF, T&M, FP), • Monitor project performance against budget, fee, and funding, • Track labor, reimbursable and non-reimbursable costs at the phase/task level, • Analyze cost variances, burn rates, and estimate-to-complete (ETC), • Maintain accurate project forecast, • Review and validate PM inputs for:, • ETC and EAC, • Revenue and margin projections, • Support monthly billing processes:, • Review labor, and reimbursable costs, • Validate billing caps, rates, and funding limits, • Assist with:, • Certified payroll support (as applicable), • Develop and maintain standard and custom VantagePoint reports, • Ensure compliance with:, • Contract billing requirements, • Internal controls and company policies, • Support internal and external audits, • Assist with documentation related to timekeeping and cost allowability Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree, • 7+ years project controls experience in engineering services company or closely related, • If you are working remote- 50% travel- several days in each office per month, • Microsoft Excel and SharePoint proficiency, • Strong ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning system) experience, • Solid math skills, • Ability to communicate with both internal staff and external clients professionally and promptly, • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, • Strong organization skills and detail orientation Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Earned Value tools, resource management and project productivity, • Deltek Vantage Point proficiency, • DOT experience, • Engineering Services contracts experience Benefits: • Choice of Two Medical Plans – 100% Employee Coverage, • HSA medical option – with Company contribution, • Affordable Dental & Vision Plans – Keep that winning smile sharp, • 401(k) with 3% Company Contribution – Future you says thanks, • Short & Long-Term Disability (Company Paid) – Because life happens, • Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Accident Plan- Pairs nicely with an HSA, • $100,000 Life Insurance (Company Paid) – Your family’s safety net, • Professional Development & Certifications – Always be leveling up, • Paid Time Off + Paid Holidays – Rest hard, play hard About Us MC Squared is a professional consulting engineering firm specializing in the fields of Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection, and Pavement Design and Management with offices in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
