The social worker will play a crucial role in the initial assessment and referral process for individuals entering the court system, particularly those with mental health, substance abuse, or other behavioral health needs. CASES is a New York City agency at the forefront of the intersection between behavioral health and the criminal justice system. Our mission is to increase public safety through innovative services that reduce crime and incarceration, improve behavioral health, promote recovery and rehabilitation, and create opportunities for success in the community. The CASES Court Services department services court mandates or endorsed programming at all points in the criminal legal process. CASES operates, alternative to detention (ATD) and alternative to incarceration (ATI) community-based programs that are facilitated by the NYS Office of Court Administration (OCA) judiciary. CASES interfaces with multiple stakeholders to support these ATD and ATI program options for thousands of defendants in multiple boroughs. Specifically, the arraignment team screens approximately 10,000 defendants a year for ATD and ATI programs, Supervised Release and Newstart. Additionally, the ATI Intake Assessment Team screens 500 people per year to divert people into 3 (three) CASES community-based programs: Reframing Opportunity Alternatives and Resilience (ROAR), Nathaniel Community Success (NCS), and Nathaniel Assertive Community Treatment (NACT). We are seeking a talented Commercia Laundry Mechanic to join our team.The Commercial Laundry Mechanic has overall responsibility for the daily repair and preventative maintenance of industrial textile processing equipment and facility maintenance. The Commercial Laundry Mechanic ensure that tasks such as start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, or other systems are completed according to policies and procedures. As well as completing daily production workload in a timely manner, consistently providing quality standards in all areas of laundry operations. Duties include but are not limited to: • Maintain, service, and repair all models of commercial laundry equipment including but not limited to washers, driers, ironers, boilers, extractors, presses, stackers, and other machinery used., • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing, issues and rebuild pumps, valves, regulators as needed while utilizing an excellent understanding of steam/thermal systems., • Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments., • Inspect, maintain, repair, and service water treatment plant machinery and equipment, including pumps, valves, valve actuators, motors, engines, meters, drives, tanks, reservoirs, compressors, chemical feed and storage systems, UV disinfection systems, heating and air conditioning systems, and other equipment typical of a water treatment facility., • Install and rebuild pumps, motors, piping systems, and specialized water treatment equipment., • Fabricate parts and equipment; operate welding, cutting, and general fabrication equipment., • Pack, lubricate, clean, and paint mechanical equipment and motors., • Inspect newly installed mechanical equipment to ensure safe and satisfactory operation and functionality., • Ensures work is performed safely and efficiently., • Read and interpret technical operation and repair manuals., • Effectively participate with preventive maintenance schedule on all laundry equipment., • Establish an organized laundry inventory system for purchasing of all parts & materials., • Provide technical training to the laundry team.
