Title: Program Coordinator, CHI (CHW Workforce Development) Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid) Compensation: $50,000 Employment Type: Full-Time About Asian Women for Health Asian Women for Health (AWFH) is a community-based nonprofit committed to advancing health equity for AANHPI women and marginalized communities through community engagement, education, and representation. We believe that those most impacted by health disparities should be centered as leaders, educators, and change agents in building healthier futures for all. AWFH’s Community Health Impact (CHI) Program equips individuals from underrepresented backgrounds with the skills and credentials needed to enter the health workforce as Community Health Workers (CHWs). Many participants are immigrants, women of color, and individuals experiencing underemployment or unemployment, making this program a crucial pathway to economic mobility, empowerment, and community-driven change. This position reports directly to the Senior Program Manager, CHI. POSITION SUMMARY The Program Coordinator will play a key role in recruiting, enrolling, and supporting participants in the CHI Program, and will assist with training operations and cohort support. Approximately 75% of this role focuses on recruitment and enrollment, including outreach, partner engagement, and applicant management. The Program Coordinator will develop and refine outreach strategies, support relationship-building with community partners, and ensure our cohorts reflect the diversity and lived experiences of the communities we serve. The remaining 25% supports training delivery and cohort operations, including logistics, communications, and teaching support during the cohort training sessions. The ideal candidate is a strong community connector and organizer — someone who builds trust, communicates clearly across cultures, and supports individuals in taking concrete steps toward meaningful careers in health and community leadership. This is a hybrid, full-time position based in downtown Boston. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES CHW Recruitment & Program Support (75%) • Develop and implement outreach strategies to recruit participants for CHW training cohorts, prioritizing underrepresented, multilingual, and marginalized communities., • Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, workforce development partners, and referral networks., • Represent AWFH at community events, job fairs, and outreach sessions., • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective trainees, providing culturally responsive guidance through the application and onboarding process., • Manage applicant intake, screenings, interviews, candidate selection, and timely communication of decisions to applicants., • Coordinate with the CHI team to ensure timely and equitable decision-making., • Maintain and actively manage the year-round recruitment pipeline and to ensure full cohort enrollment., • Track recruitment data and maintain accurate records in compliance with funder and internal reporting requirements. Training Support & Cohort Operations (25%) • Support training logistics, scheduling, participant communications, and event planning., • Track attendance, assignments, and participant progress in coordination with the CHW Trainer., • Facilitate occasional group activities to support engagement and cohort connection., • Provide on-site support during training sessions, including classroom setup, technical assistance, and cohort meal coordination., • Manager participant communications and assignment monitoring through Google Classroom, • Assist with graduation planning and cohort events. Collaboration & Communication • Work closely with the Senior Program Manager, CHW Trainer, and Job Coach to support cohort success and participant retention., • Partner with the Communications team to develop culturally relevant recruitment materials, outreach efforts, and participant success stories., • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to ongoing program improvement and planning. QUALIFICATIONS Required: • Deep knowledge of and/or lived experience in Boston’s Asian, immigrant, or historically marginalized communities., • At least 2 years of experience in community outreach, workforce development, recruitment, or a related field., • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills with the ability to build trust across diverse communities and language backgrounds., • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while working collaboratively., • Comfort with public speaking and community engagement., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Monday.com, and willingness to learn basic database and data-tracking systems like DocuSign, etc. Preferred: • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (especially Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole), • Outreach or sales experience, including door-to-door engagement, cold calls, or tabling., • Experience in marketing, sales, nonprofit, public health, workforce development, or research settings, • Familiarity with Community Health Worker roles, competencies, or certification pathways, • Knowledge of Boston-area social service, workforce development, or healthcare systems Work Environment • Hybrid position: In-office at least 2 days per week, with flexibility for remote work, • Office location: Downtown Boston in a collaborative co-working space, • Occasional evening or weekend hours for outreach events, training sessions, or research activities To Apply Please submit a cover letter detailing your interest and qualifications, along with your resume, to LinkedIn OR e-mail your package to .
