Job Description We are seeking a Safety & Security Supervisor who will assist in implementing safety and security programs and overseeing the daily operations of all site security functions. This role ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors while supporting regulatory compliance, facility safety programs, and emergency preparedness. Key Responsibilities 1. Safety & Security • Oversee operations of security guards at all sites and patrol facility areas., • Report potential safety or security concerns and recommend solutions., • Assist Safety Officer with environmental security tours., • Report patient and employee incidents to the appropriate supervisor., • Provide orientation and training to newly hired or contracted security personnel., • Coordinate repairs/issues related to burglar and fire alarm systems., • Manage access control to facilities., • Monitor electronic surveillance of facilities and report suspicious activities., • De-escalate situations involving violent or threatening behavior from patients or visitors., • Provide backup support to security guards when necessary., • Supervise parking lot operations. 2. Hazardous Materials and Waste • Coordinate procurement of labels, pictograms, and signage to maintain hazardous waste compliance. 3. Medical Equipment • Ensure all medical equipment is labeled with facility identification tags and documented by site and department., • Schedule safety testing and calibration of new medical equipment prior to use., • Report non-functional or damaged equipment and coordinate necessary repairs. 4. Fire Safety and Emergency Management • Inspect all areas to ensure exits and emergency egress pathways remain unobstructed., • Assist the Safety Officer and staff during emergency situations and drills., • Support documentation of emergency events, drills, and training activities., • Conduct periodic inspections of life safety equipment including fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and fire alarm pull stations to verify functionality and inspection compliance. 5. Utilities Management/Site Maintenance • Coordinate site-specific utility failure issues with the Safety Officer and maintenance vendors., • Provide oversight and reporting on maintenance activities across all sites., • Assist in implementing safety and security measures during construction or renovation projects. 6. Licenses and Permits • Ensure all posted facility licenses and permits remain current and valid., • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Security Management, or a related field required., • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in security, safety operations, facilities safety, or a related field, • At least 1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred., • Experience working in healthcare such as community health centers or hospitals is preferred., • Knowledge of facility safety regulations, emergency preparedness, OSHA standards, and workplace safety practices preferred., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Strong cross-cultural communication skills., • This position operates in a healthcare environment, including administrative offices, clinical areas, and facility grounds across multiple sites., • The role requires regular walking, standing, and patrolling of facilities to monitor safety and security conditions., • May require travel between organizational locations to oversee security operations and conduct inspections., • Must be available to respond to urgent safety or security incidents, emergencies, or alarm notifications as needed., • May be exposed to stressful situations, including conflict resolution or de-escalation of aggressive behavior.Company DescriptionMiami Beach Community Health Center (MBCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to serving a predominantly low-income population in North Miami and Miami Beach, FL.
