Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipper & Receiver Job Description This contract-to-hire role focuses on preparing outgoing shipments and coordinating closely with the Customer Service team to ensure all shipping documents are accurate, complete, and processed on time. You will handle material movement, use carrier and ERP systems, and support general warehouse operations in a fast-paced distribution center. Responsibilities • Transact customer orders using both carrier systems and the company’s ERP system to ensure accurate and timely processing of shipments., • Perform quality control inspections within the workflow to verify accuracy, completeness, and condition of orders before shipment., • Package and tape international shipments in multi-pack cartons for export, following all packaging and labeling requirements., • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons, confirming that labels match order and shipment details., • Take accurate inventory counts at the end of each day and report discrepancies as needed., • Serve as a back-up order picker when required, using pick/pack processes to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently., • Assemble cardboard cartons as needed for large or multi-pack shipments., • Move prepared shipments from the shipping cart to the dock door using material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts., • Call and/or email forwarding companies to arrange shipment pick-ups and confirm schedules., • Consign shipments to forwarders and verify that the correct shipments are consigned by carefully reviewing documentation and instructions., • Maintain good communication and rapport with co-workers to support smooth workflow and teamwork., • Ensure the shipping area remains organized, clean, and neat to promote safety and efficiency., • Keep the supervisor informed of issues on the shipping floor, including delays, inventory concerns, or equipment problems., • Use RF scanners and other warehouse technology to complete order picking, shipping, and receiving tasks., • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and distribution operations.Essential Skills, • Proven material handling experience in a warehouse or distribution environment., • General warehouse experience, including order picking, pick/pack, and staging orders for shipment., • Shipping and receiving experience, including familiarity with carriers such as UPS and FedEx., • Ability to transact orders using carrier systems and ERP systems., • Computer literacy with demonstrated ability to learn new software and applications., • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook., • Experience using RF scanners for order picking and inventory activities., • Ability to operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely., • Forklift certification required, or the ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external partners., • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when handling documents, labels, and shipments.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with international shipping and receiving using UPS, FedEx, or similar carriers., • Prior experience working in a large distribution center environment with high racking systems., • Demonstrated reliability in attendance, performance, and teamwork in previous roles., • Comfort working with multiple shifts and adapting to different warehouse locations as needed., • Ability to maintain organization and cleanliness in a busy shipping environment., • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a new distribution center with extensive racking similar to a large wholesale warehouse, where you will use material handling equipment to stage and move orders for shipment. Multiple shift options are available, including day and swing shifts at different locations, providing flexibility in scheduling. The environment is fast-paced and highly organized, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and efficient workflow. You will work closely with the Customer Service and Operations teams, using ERP systems, carrier platforms, RF scanners, and standard warehouse tools such as forklifts and pallet jacks. The facility offers on-site amenities including a full kitchen, game area, TV lounge, small library, and gym, contributing to a comfortable and supportive work setting. Dress is typical for a warehouse and distribution environment, emphasizing safety and practicality while working around racks, equipment, and active shipping docks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
