Job Description Job Summary DJ&A is seeking a full-time Proposal Specialist with 5+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry or a related field. This position is responsible for overseeing and participating in the development of high-quality, persuasive, and compliant qualification-based proposals and other marketing collateral. The ideal candidate is a strategic and critical thinker; is a strong, persuasive writer; works well under pressure; is a capable manager; effectively manages tight deadlines; and is passionate about quality. Key Responsibilities • Team Management: Lead and manage the collective efforts of the proposal development team, which includes proposal coordinators and other support staff., • Proposal Lifecycle Manager: Coordinate with proposal development team, senior BD personnel, and subject matter experts to develop compliant, client-centric proposals. Develop and manage a firmwide proposal development schedule, assign tasks, and coordinate resources to meet deadlines., • Lead Key Messaging Development: Craft strategic messages that differentiate DJ&A from competitors in light of client needs and aspirations. Collaborate with technical staff to capture insights and shape them into strategic, client-focused content., • Write and Edit Proposal Content: Write original, client-focused proposal narratives and marketing copy highlighting DJ&A’s value and differentiators. Edit and tailor existing copy to ensure content is concise, compelling, and supported by strong evidence., • Manage Proposal Content Library: Oversee the organization and continual improvement of proposal and marketing boilerplate content for future proposal use., • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent work experience), • 5+ years of experience writing and managing the proposal lifecycle, preferably in the AEC industry, where proposal evaluation is based on Qualification Based Selection (QBS), • Exceptional writing skills, • Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals and meet critical deadlines, • Strong strategic thinker with powerful critical thinking skills, • Highly collaborative, curious, and possesses high standards for quality, • Strong organizational and time management abilities, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines, • Full-time weekdays, 40 hours per week, 9/80 work schedule, occasional overtime required to meet deadlines, • Base pay of $34 - $50 per hour, depending on experience and location
