Cable Installer Level II
CABLE TECHNICIANS
Candidate will travel to multiple sites across the US.
Basic Duties Include:
We are looking for multiple individuals to assist with cabling projects.for one of our end users. Qualified candidates must have experience working on large-scale communications structured cabling projects.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Pull/Terminate/Test CAT 5/5e/6 communications cable Installation of cable pathway systems Test, label and document horizontal, backbone and other cables Dress and route cable into telecom closets, modular furniture and other work area outlets Build-out telecom and equipment rooms Install Fire-stops and various types of cable penetrations Test, troubleshoot and document test results for cabling May assist with installing, maintaining, operating, and upgrading IT equipment (to include video teleconferencing (VTC) units and A/V equipment under direction of Lead technician, may perform preventive maintenance on systems and equipment (may include climbing ladders and use of lift devices; requires proficiency with normal working tools, must know how to solder and crimp connections) Provide field reporting updates to Project Manager as necessary. Requires working knowledge of Telecom Systems, TCP/IP Networks, CCTV Security, Access Control Lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds of equipment.
Be capable of performing the following work operations/job
activities without supervision or direction: 1. Addition or removal of common systems equipment/hardware 2. Addition or removal of wiring and connections (on non- working equipment only) 3. Lead verification 4. Analysis of job specifications and drawings 5. Provide work assignments to crew 6. Prepare the forms as required 7. Resolve job specification and/or drawing problems 8. Correct office record drawings 9. In-process and final quality inspections 10. Able to communicate on all aspects of the job throughout the duration of the job. 11. Be capable of performing as in-charge person on jobs. 12. Education and Experience: 13. Must have the ability to install, terminate and test low voltage cables & fiber optic cables; Four (4) years’ experience. 14. Certification preferred but not required: Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification 15. Skills Preferred: 16. Experience working with multiple departments and managing multiple tasks concurrently Strong verbal and written communication skills. Capable of frequent interaction with team members, customers and vendors. Knowledge of construction documentation and blueprint reading. Driver’s license required, safe driving record. Positive attitude, warm and inviting personality team oriented, works well with others planning and organizational skills. Adaptability and stress tolerance.
