Premier Medical Staffing Services is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Madison, Wisconsin. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization, • Two years minimum as staff therapist, • Pediatric and adult experience preferred, • Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital, • Prior traveler experience highly preferred, • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in State of Wisconsin required, • RRT credentialed by National Board for Respiratory Care required, • BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY, • Travel Experience Required: Yes, • Trauma Level I Experience: Required, • Trauma Level II Experience: Required, • Charting System Experience: Required, • Charting System Name: Epic, • Evening/Night, 8/12 hr shifts, 1900-0730, 2300-0730, 1500-2330 every other weekend, holidays and 1 on call shift every 6-week scheduling period, • Weekend Coverage: True, • Call Required: 1 call shift per 6 weeks of contract, • Flu Vaccine: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only, • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required, • Submittals: Low, • Local Radius: 50 miles from the facility, • Local Rule: locals are not accepted, • License: must be in hand at submittal, • Minimum experience required: Inpatient RN travelers must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to. This is a hard requirement, • References: please remove all references, no references will be accepted, • Orientation Hours: 40, • Orientation Schedule: UWH orientation is held every other week typically on a Monday, but not all travelers will start on a Monday even if the contract has a Monday start. This is due to department specific orientation schedules. Travelers should follow the start date and time listed in their welcome letter and department schedule. Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change traveler should follow instructions in welcome letter). Orientation is typically about one week, • Pre-Approved Time Off: one, • RTO Requirements: Manager will review/approve during candidate review process. Generally, no more than 2 weeks off in a contract. If the request is more than 1 week and is consecutive (no hours in the week), Vaya will add 1 week at the end of the contract. Generally, all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required. Some units are stricter than others regarding holidays (ED allows for 1 holiday off), • Pass/Fail Testing required with strict passing criteria, • A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. The following criteria must be met in two attempts:, • Adult Exam: 100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, • No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks [1 incorrect answer will cause failure], • Passing score of 80% or higher, • Pediatric Exam: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia, • Passing score of 80% or higher, • Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the individual does not pass on the second attempt their contract may be cancelled. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned. If the traveler does not pass after three attempts Vaya will notify recruitment of the results. Recruitment will notify the hiring manager that the traveler's assignment will be cancelled, • Help patients breathe easier at the #1 hospital in Wisconsin and a Level 1 Trauma Center!, • We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to:, • Work with an inter-disciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care, • Provide aerosolized medication, volume expansion, airway clearance techniques, tracheostomy cares and sputum inductions to patients, • Work with non-invasive ventilation, high flow and mechanical ventilation at IMC and ICU level, • Collaborate with physicians, care team leaders, staff nurses, other caregiving disciplines, and patients/families to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for each patient, • Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited School for Respiratory Care, • Location: University Hospital, 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792, • Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite Other transportation options are available: bus, park & ride, private parking, etc.
