Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/20/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 20, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • 24-bed high-acuity intensive care unit setting, • Mixed critical care patient population including sepsis, CVA, pneumonia, ARDS, respiratory failure, heart failure, renal failure, overdose, CIWA, and other critical conditions — predominantly older adults, • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2, though this may vary to 1:3 depending on acuity and unit needs, • Mechanical ventilation and sedation management required on this unit, • Vasoactive drip and pressor titration required on this unit, • Point-of-care testing performed using EPOC and iStat devices, • Alaris infusion pumps used; additional equipment training provided as needed, • Experience with Impella, CRRT, and cardiac surgery patients is preferred, • Epic EHR used; training available, • 12-hour night shifts, • Every other weekend required, • One major holiday requiredRequirements, • Active RN license — VA state license or compact RN license required, • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required, • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required; 3 years strongly preferred, • Proficiency with lab draws and peripheral IV starts required, • Experience with ventilator management, sedation, and titrating vasoactive drips/pressors required, • Must be able to read and verify cardiac rhythm strips, • Must pass an EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided); two attempts allowed, • Copy of nursing diploma required for point-of-care testing access, • Proof of address and a supervisory reference required for consideration, • Candidate's full SSN and DOB required for consideration, • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facilityAdditional Information, • Provides comprehensive assessment, care planning, and management of critically ill patients with multi-system organ failure, • Performs hemodynamic monitoring and manages patients with Swan-Ganz catheters, vasoactive drips, and advanced respiratory modalities, • Assists with insertion of intra-aortic balloon pumps, chest tubes, Impellas, and transvenous/temporary pacing, • Administers conscious sedation and manages CRRT and mechanical ventilation, • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team including spiritual care, palliative care, and ethics as needed, • Serves as a point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments and for families and caregivers, • Orientation follows the BSMH Orientation Calendar B, • Navy blue or white scrubs required, • Neuro background preferred With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
