Job DescriptionJob Title: Pipe Handler / Forklift Operator - $18 an hour Riverdale, Iowa 6am-2:30pm Job Description This role supports multiple departments, including Pipe Cell, Receiving, Shipping, and Packaging, by safely operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, and prepare pipe and related products in a production and warehouse environment. You will follow work instructions and work orders to accurately and efficiently complete customer orders while maintaining a clean and organized work area. Responsibilities • Operate a variety of powered industrial trucks, including sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks, to safely move materials throughout the facility., • Unload inbound pipe shipments from trucks and containers using appropriate material-handling equipment., • Move pipe and other products to designated pick locations in the Pipe Cell, Shipping, and Receiving departments., • Pull pipe orders accurately according to work instructions, customer orders, and work orders., • Barcode and label pipe and other products to ensure proper identification and traceability., • Bundle and wrap pipe securely for storage or shipment, following company standards., • Cut pipe as required, including completing cut lists, scrap segregation, and proper scrap identification., • Check in incoming product, verify quantities and descriptions, and ensure accurate inventory updates., • Restock pick locations with pipe and coil products to maintain adequate inventory for order fulfillment., • Pull various types of coil orders and prepare them for shipment according to customer specifications., • Wrap finished products for shipment to protect materials during transit., • Load outbound shipments onto trucks safely and efficiently, ensuring orders are complete and secure., • Assist with customer pickup and will-call orders by locating, staging, and loading materials., • Unload trucks as needed to support shipping and receiving operations., • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of equipment and personal protective practices., • Maintain a clean and organized work area within production, shipping, and receiving departments., • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production and shipping schedulesEssential Skills, • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a variety of powered industrial trucks in a production or warehouse environment., • Proven experience completing orders from written work instructions, customer orders, and work orders., • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment in busy warehouse and production areas., • Experience with material-handling tasks such as loading, unloading, picking, and moving inventory., • Basic understanding of inventory processes, including checking in product and restocking pick locations., • Ability to read and follow barcodes, labels, and order documentation accurately., • Capability to perform general labor tasks related to shipping, receiving, and packaging., • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order pulling, labeling, and shipment preparation., • Physical ability to work on your feet, handle pipe and coil products, and perform repetitive material-handling tasks. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverdale, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
