American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a 20-bed Adult Cardiac Intermediate Unit within an acute care hospital setting, • Patient population includes cardiac stepdown, post-ICU, heart failure, EP patients, ventilated and trached, and overflow from other stepdown units including some COVID cases, • Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:3, may go to 1:4 based on acuity, • Rotating night shifts (7p-7a) with every other or every third weekend, and holiday coverage required, • Required to float to every level of care, including ICU, • Utilizes Swan Ganz, external pacemakers, PICC, midlines, CVC, arterial lines, and specialty intervention equipment, • RNs are expected to titrate multiple drips including vasoactive and sedation infusions, • All patients are monitored using Philips telemetry; RNs must read and interpret strips, • EPIC EMR is used, • Travelers must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and pick up duties without orientation to equipment or patient population, • One day unit orientation plus two days with preceptor will be provided, • No call requirement, • Travelers expected to float and take full patient assignments at all care levels including ICU, • No specific scrub color required, but attire must be professional and clean, • Local candidates are accepted at a different pay rate if residing within 50 miles, • COVID vaccination is not required, • First-time travelers are not specifically excluded\n \n Requirements\n, • Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; pending applications are not accepted, • Minimum of 2 years current CVICU or Cardiac ICU experience is required, • Basic Life Support (BLS; AHA) required; ACLS preferred, CCRN or PCCN a plus, • Ability to function independently with complex cardiac/intermediate care patients, including vent/trach, specialized lines and drips, • Competency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips and titrating drips, • Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and time management skills\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
