American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Oncology, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the Oncology Acute unit within an acute care hospital setting, • Unit has 19 private beds with nurse to patient ratios ranging from 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, with some variation based on census and specific therapies, • Patient population includes all types of cancer, with a focus on lymphoma, leukemia, hematology, radiation oncology, and GYN/ONC cases, • Responsibilities include administration of chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens, including precautions and monitoring for side effects, • No requirement to titrate drips; set rate medications include heparin and some chemotherapy agents, • Epic Beacon EMR is used for documentation, • Twelve-hour night shifts (1900-0700), with scheduling flexibility per unit need, • Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday, • No on-call requirement, • Floating may be required within general medical care levels, • No specific scrub color required, • Work closely with a charge RN and house supervisor, both available 24/7, • Patient care techs provide support on the unit according to census-driven staffing, • Nurses are not required to read or interpret telemetry strips, • Bipap and CPAP are managed collaboratively with RT support, • Unit-specific orientation of 24-36 hours will be provided, • No COVID vaccination required for assignment, • Local rates apply to candidates living within 50 miles of the facility\n \n Requirements\n, • Active IL RN license at time of consideration, • Minimum of 1 year recent RN experience, preferably in oncology or acute care, • Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate, • Experience administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy, including handling precautions and side effect monitoring, • Previous experience with Epic Beacon preferred\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
