Job Description Job Title: Welder Job Description We are seeking a skilled Welder with experience in MIG welding to join our dynamic team. This role involves working with .045 wire on both carbon and stainless steel, with a focus on fabricating and assembling parts. You will be responsible for interpreting blueprints and ensuring precise measurements, contributing to the manufacturing of conveyor systems. Responsibilities • Perform welding tasks using .045 wire on carbon and stainless steel., • Read and interpret basic blueprints for accurate assembly of parts., • Utilize tape measures for precise measurements., • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as required., • Assist with operating break or drill press upon completion of welding tasks. Essential Skills • Minimum of 6 months of welding experience or possession of a welding Associate of Arts degree., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints., • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with MIG welding techniques., • Capability to operate various machinery such as brake or shear. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a small, lively shop with a close-knit crew that enjoys a lighthearted atmosphere. The shop is not climate-controlled, which means it can be very hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Employees are encouraged to assist in various areas, enhancing their skill set beyond welding. The company manufactures conveyor systems, serving clients globally. The available shifts are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM for the first shift, and from 3:30 PM to 11:50 PM for the second shift, with overtime extending the second shift to 12:30 AM most days. Voluntary overtime is available on Saturdays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
