Job Description The Company: At UpRise, the mission is to alleviate poverty in the community through education, redemptive relationships, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. The work is deeply relational and requires both compassion and accountability, along with strong follow through, sound judgment, and attention to detail. The Position: The Career Coach plays a central role in helping Leaders take meaningful steps toward long term stability and career success. This person teaches during UpRise’s five-week Training Camp and provides individualized coaching to an assigned caseload of Leaders from Training Camp through education or training, job placement, and sustained employment. This role requires a combination of relational depth and operational excellence. A strong Career Coach builds trust quickly, teaches effectively, communicates clearly, and helps Leaders navigate personal barriers and professional goals while managing multiple responsibilities with consistency and care. Responsibilities: Training Camp • Attend and actively support Training Camp activities as assigned, • Build trust with Leaders while reinforcing program values, expectations, and accountability, • Help manage classroom culture, logistics, and Leader engagement, • Prepare for and teach soft skills classes during Training Camp and Family Gatherings, including resume writing, interviewing, networking, communication, and workplace professionalism, • Coach an assigned group of Leaders and help assess goals, readiness, and next steps Leader Coaching, Career Launch, and Employment Support • Guide Leaders in identifying viable career pathways based on their strengths, goals, and available opportunities, • Help Leaders navigate barriers that could interfere with progress in training, employment, or retention, • Support Leaders in accessing education, financial assistance, and other resources needed to complete their training path, • Track Leader progress through training, certification, and employment milestones with accuracy and consistency, • Facilitate job readiness activities including resumes, applications, interviewing, onboarding, and workplace preparation, • Help Leaders secure employment with long term growth potential, • Provide ongoing coaching after job placement to support retention, problem solving, and advancement, • Coordinate resources and create opportunities for Leaders to access supportive services such as housing, counseling, recovery support, transportation, and mental health care, • Partner with teammates and outside organizations to ensure Leaders receive strong, well-integrated support Data, Documentation, and Administrative Follow Through • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, earnings data, and other records in the CRM (Salesforce), • Track outcomes and required documentation with strong attention to detail, • Prepare and present data as needed for grant reporting, internal review, and team accountability, • Communicate consistently with teammates, training providers, employers, and Leaders regarding next steps, concerns, and progress, • Manage multiple deadlines, follow-up points, and Leader needs without letting important details fall through the cracks Qualifications: • Demonstrated passion for helping individuals move toward stability, dignity, and long term success, • Strong alignment with UpRise’s Christian mission and values, • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, especially in social work, counseling, education, workforce development, or a related field, • Experience building trust and maintaining effective relationships with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, • Demonstrated ability to navigate difficult conversations with empathy, honesty, tact, and appropriate accountability, • Experience teaching, facilitating, or leading small groups, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and follow-up points simultaneously, • Strong administrative discipline including timely documentation, accurate data entry, and careful recordkeeping, • Comfort using databases, CRMs, spreadsheets, and other systems to track progress and outcomes, • Ability to remain calm, steady, and professional in high-pressure or emotionally complex situations, • Willingness to work collaboratively in a small team environment, • Professional experience in a nonprofit, workforce development, education, coaching, or human services setting strongly preferred, • High energy, humility, initiative, and a positive attitude Salary + Benefits: • $55,000-$70,000, • 40 hours per week + One Thursday evening per month and occasional additional hours as scheduled, • Comprehensive benefits include employer-covered health, dental, life, and disability insurance, 15 days PTO plus additional sick and mission trip time, and up to a 6% 403(b) match., • Option to work from home on Fridays after becoming proficient in the role, depending on organizational needs #INDM
