Job Description Summary: Streetwork Project is an innovative outreach-counseling program for homeless youth in Harlem, which utilizes a harm reduction approach providing comprehensive services to adolescents and young adults impacted by homelessness and involved in street activities (gangs, violence, drug use/sale and survival sex). The Youth Services Peer Navigator are young adults (ages 18–30) with lived experience of unaccompanied homelessness during their youth. They provide mentorship, advocacy, and connection to resources for youth and young adults currently navigating the RHY continuum. Youth Services Peer Navigators help build trust, promote youth voice and choice, and walk alongside young people in their journeys. Job Description Trauma Counselor Summary: Safe Horizon’s Safe Way forward program provides comprehensive trauma-informed client-centered services to families who are affected by intimate partner violence and are involved in the child welfare system. Our goal is help those who have experienced physical, emotional or other forms of abuse to establish long-term safety and healing from the effects of trauma. Safe Horizon uses a client centered, trauma informed, anti-oppressive approach to supporting clients. Safe Horizon recognizes that families who have experienced intimate partner violence may want to or need to stay in contact with the person causing harm in the family. The Safe Way forward program (SWF) was designed to engage family members with support to assist in healing and explore ways for families to maintain contact where safe to do so. In this model, all participating members of the family are considered clients (survivor, person causing harm, and their children). Hybrid schedule: 2 days on site, 3 days remote. Storytelling • Collaborate with Director of Marcom as well as colleagues in Marcom and Development and our digital marketing consultant to identify the types and timing of stories needed to illustrate DOROTs work and impact., • Serve as primary collector and creator of storytelling content, with regular contributions from members of the Marcom and Development teams., • Create and update an annual editorial calendar and oversee content creation by contributors to ensure that goals and deadlines are met., • Develop content with an eye toward repurposing it across digital mediawebsite, email, socialas well as print, in alignment with editorial calendar and marketing goals., • Write and edit blog posts and news stories for the website and for DOROTs print newsletter; create and edit videos for cross-channel use; take photos; create ads and flyers as needed using graphic design tools., • Interview DOROT constituents, donors, and staff, and do research as needed, as part of identifying and developing stories., • Stay knowledgeable and up to date on DOROT events, programs, and initiatives in order to identify potential story content and ensure that the Marcom team is covering issues as needed., • Collect, organize, and save stories/potential stories and quotes for use by the entire Advancement team. TO SUCCEED IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL HAVE: • At least three years of experience in marketing and communications, ideally in the nonprofit field, with demonstrated success managing social media platforms and creating content that tells stories about people and impact., • Up-to-date knowledge of best practices and creative strategies on leading social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, as well as fluency in the use of video editing tools, Hootsuite, Canva, and photography for public use. The ability to use Adobe Creative Suite is a plus., • A proven track record of growing and engaging social media audiences and of developing creative and impactful multi-media campaigns., • Excellent copywriting skills and an understanding of marketing communications and how to adapt tone and style for varied platforms and audiences., • Strong storytelling and interviewing skills including the ability to blend quotes, comments, description, and background information into cohesive stories that engage audiences., • Experience creating editorial calendars as well as compiling and presenting digital analytics., • An exceptional ability to collaborate and communicate positively with colleagues, both on your team and across departments, and a flexible, solutions-oriented approach to working with others., • An ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines., • Comfort wearing many hats and supporting areas outside your formal role when needed., • Eagerness and ability to acquire new skills, including learning new digital platforms and technologies and developing new areas of expertise related to your work., • Availability to work approximately 8 Sundays and/or work nights per year for programs or events to take photos, conduct interviews, and collect stories. About the Role In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring a Chief, Higher Education Partnerships, who will set the vision for how the organization cultivates new partnerships and strengthens existing ones. As the most senior leader of the Higher Education Partnerships team at Braven, you will report to the Chief Executive Officer and lead a team of 3-6 that executes directly in specialized areas, create systems and tools that foster efficiencies, and empower Braven’s regions to steward complex higher education relationships with excellence. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a deep understanding of higher education, a strategic thinker with strong relationship-building skills, and a deep passion for student success. This role is on the Higher Education Partners team and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). What You’ll Do Strategic Planning (40%) • Create the vision for and oversee the execution of the organization’s higher education partnership strategy, working alongside Braven’s Strategy and Finance team and other relevant teams as needed, to ensure alignment that drives Braven toward partnership growth and success., • Create the vision for, and oversee the execution of, the organization’s recruitment strategy to ensure Braven meets its ambitious growth goals., • Develop strategies to engage potential new partners, demonstrating the value of our service to university leadership., • Create a vision and operational plan for partnership excellence, working with regional EDs and other internal teams as needed, to develop robust metrics and continuous improvement processes to strengthen relationships and drive outcomes and accountability., • Determine and execute against key cultivation priorities with high-stakes higher education partners, including building and maintaining strong relationships and pipelines., • Build and strengthen authentic, mutually beneficial relationships with Presidents, Provosts, Deans, faculty, and staff to successfully steward current higher education partnerships, while cultivating dozens more, listening to and understanding their needs and priorities., • Partner with the Chief, External Affairs, to determine which conference Braven should attend, present at, and/or sponsor, attending conferences as needed to represent Braven at industry conferences, events, and meetings to build brand awareness and foster new relationships., • Provide leadership and coaching to the Higher Education Partnership (HEP) team, including the new sites team, HEP team, and the student recruitment team, inspiring and motivating them to take action and meet ambitious goals as they create the visions, strategies, systems, tools, and training for university partnerships and student recruitment., • Partner with the External Affairs team and the Regional Success teams to ensure strong student recruitment across university sites, specifically where structural enrollments are not in place, • Collaborate with Braven’s regional teams and other internal teams as needed to build the skills and mindsets needed to have strong relationships with our higher education partners. The salary ranges, by geographic market, for this role are set forth $187,100-$233,800 in Atlanta, $197,600-$246,900 in Chicago, $217,300-$271,600 in New York, NY and Newark, NJ.
