Job Summary: Regional Discipline Coordinator is a position in the Labor Relations Department requiring a strong understanding of progressive discipline, union relations, human resources talent, and data management, and hands-on execution of the skillsets across various platforms and varying audiences internal and external to the Company. The position primarily focuses on serving as one of Company's primary points of contact responsible for ensuring the discipline administered to our guard force is in compliance with the applicable operative discipline policies on organized contracts. Key responsibilities include discipline dashboard management, cross-departmental communications regarding discipline, interpretation of applicable contracts, collective bargaining agreements and affiliated discipline policies to ensure compliance, communication with the guard force regarding discipline, union grievance management, and addressing other operational needs related to discipline as they arise. Duties/Responsibilities: • Data and Dashboard Management – Review and management of dashboards and reports applicable to each contract located in the assigned geographic region based on bespoke progressive discipline systems; conduct audits to ensure compliance; exercise judgment and discretion on when to accept, amend, or reject discipline; troubleshoot and build reports relating to the same for accurate tracking and efficient management., • Cross-Departmental Communications – Verbal and written communication with cross-departmental managerial points of contact regarding discipline; exercise judgment and discretion in recommending potential adverse employment action, counseling, training, and rehabilitative efforts on a progressive basis based on dashboard management and behavioral trends of officers within the geographic region., • Contract Interpretation and Application – Review and understand client contract requirements in combination with applicable collective bargaining agreements and Company policies with respect to discipline in order to efficiently manage the same in compliance with all governing contracts and policies., • Union/Grievance Engagement – Investigate and respond to union grievances at the step 1 level to the extent necessary on a contract-by-contract basis and coordinate/consult with the chain of command within the Labor Management Team regarding strategies and plans of action., • Engagement and Interaction – Engage with officers regarding discipline issuance, rehabilitative measures, adverse employment action, the basis for the same, and resolving any disciplinary discrepancies which may arise. Address operational needs with respect to discipline and staffing eligibility/decisions. Further engage with local officers and management on regional contracts to build rapport and facilitate positive communications and quality control. Occasional travel for site visits and training as the need arises. Required Skills/Abilities: • The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in discipline administration and human resources management., • Understanding of auditing and cleaning data. Experience with the Salesforce platform is preferred, though not necessary., • A strong understanding of contract interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements and corporate policies from a business/employer context, with requisite underlying experience in managing the application of disciplinary terms,, • Experience with the grievance process, or at a minimum, a willingness to learn., • Excel at interaction in a corporate environment and effectively communicate with all levels of management, employees, and union representatives., • Independently exercise judgment and discretion when administering discipline and making recommendations regarding potentially adverse employment action, counseling, rehabilitative measures, systems processes, and policy compliance., • An understanding of security operations strongly preferred., • Excellent written and oral communication skills., • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and time management skills., • Effective communicator who understands the value of teamwork, thrives in a collaborative environment, and possesses business maturity, enthusiasm, and a positive work attitude., • Comfortable in an ever-changing, fast paced, data-driven, sometimes stressful kinetic and deadline-prevalent environment., • Can independently develop reports, spreadsheets, diagrams, charts, graphs, and other products that may be needed. (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Salesforce) Education and Experience: • Preferred candidate has a Bachelors’ degree;, • 5+ years’ experience in corporate discipline and human resources administration or similar level of experience in unionized environments with multiple bargaining units, inclusive of the grievance process., • Preferred certifications include Salesforce (Associate, Advanced Administrator, or related) and HR Certification Institute (HRCI) credentials such as aPHR, PHR, or SPHR., • Time and travel flexibility depending on the needs of the Company.
