We are looking for an experienced, friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Till Assistant to join our supermarket team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service at the checkout, handling transactions accurately, and ensuring a smooth and positive shopping experience for all customers.
Key Responsibilities
-Operate tills and process cash, card, and contactless payments accurately
-Provide polite, helpful, and efficient customer service at all times
-Scan items correctly and handle refunds or exchanges when required
-Keep the checkout area clean, tidy, and well-organised
-Assist customers with queries, bagging items, and promotions
-Follow store policies, cash-handling procedures, and health & safety guidelines
-Support other store duties when required (e.g. restocking, facing shelves)
Skills & Requirements
-Previous retail or till experience preferred (but not essential – training provided)
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Basic numeracy and attention to detail
-Ability to work well under pressure during busy periods
-Honest, punctual, and reliable
-Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
