Motorcycle Sales Manager & Team Leader Location: John Banks Motorcycles – Colchester Full-Time | Permanent Competitive Salary | Basic circa £50,000 + Performance Bonus John Banks Group, one of East Anglia’s most established and respected family-run dealer groups, is seeking an experienced Motorcycle Sales Manager and Team Leader to lead our flagship Colchester Dream Dealership. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all new and used motorcycle sales operations including road bikes, off-road motocross bikes and pre-owned stock. You will manage a high-performing sales team, control stock processes, and ensure a first-class customer experience across a busy, high-profile motorcycle centre. If you are an experienced manager, a long-term motorcycle rider with a clean licence, and a confident leader with a track record of driving sales performance, we would like to hear from you. Key Responsibilities • Lead all sales operations for new motorcycles, used motorcycles, and off-road motocross products, • Manage, coach and develop a strong sales team to achieve agreed performance targets, • Deliver sales growth across new, used, off-road, finance, accessories and value-added products, • Oversee complete stock control, pricing, merchandising and preparation of all motorcycles, • Maintain accurate, timely listing of new and used stock including imagery, videos and descriptions, • Ensure exceptional customer experience (CSI) and uphold high presentation standards, • Drive structured enquiry management and follow-up processes, • Ensure all sales processes, regulatory requirements and documentation are fully compliant, • Promote and support digital visibility including social media content, online engagement and video walkarounds, • Maintain excellent working relationships with manufacturers and internal departments, • Minimum 3–5 years of management or team leader experience within automotive or motorcycle retail, • A passionate and experienced motorcycle rider with strong product knowledge, • A proven ability to lead, motivate and build high-performing sales teams, • Strong communication, coaching and organisational skills, • Excellent understanding of sales processes, compliance and customer service standards, • Confident in digital retailing, social media content creation and CRM usage, • Experience managing stock control and achieving strong stock turn performance, • A proactive, hands-on approach with high attention to detail, • Must live within reasonable commuting distance of Colchester or be willing to relocate What We Offer • Competitive basic salary circa £50,000 per annum - negotiable., • Strong bonus structure linked to sales performance, stock control, leadership and CSI, • Annual consistency bonus for meeting quarterly performance targets, • Long-established, family-run Group with over 50 years of heritage, • Full training provided via John Banks Group and manufacturer programmes, • Excellent long-term career progression opportunities You will be joining a dealership with strong brand relationships, a loyal customer base and exciting growth opportunities across both road and off-road sectors.
