Senior / Intermediate Cladding Designer North Greenwich | Hybrid Working Our client is expanding its design team and is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Cladding Designer to join our established team of three designers. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of façade projects, primarily within the M25 region. About the Role This is a hybrid position, combining: Office-based work at our North Greenwich office Remote working Occasional site visits Projects are predominantly UK-based, with occasional overnight stays required. Candidate Profile Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or Architecture, or equivalent relevant experience Intermediate level: 3–4 years’ UK cladding design experience Senior level: 5+ years’ UK cladding design experience Essential: Proven cladding design experience Curtain walling–only experience will not be considered Skills & Technical Requirements Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, PDF software, and Microsoft Office / Outlook Experience with 3D AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Bluebeam is advantageous Strong written and verbal English communication skills Ability to work semi-autonomously from verbal, written, or sketched instructions Technical Knowledge Cladding systems, panels, insulation, fixings, fire barriers, and membranes Fire barrier design and fixing types Fabrication drawings U-value calculations and condensation risk analysis for external walls Design Capabilities Accurate sub-grid and panel layout drawings Technical hand sketches (preferred) Producing drawings from site photos, surveys, and mapping tools (Google Maps / Google Earth) Personal Attributes Confident working under pressure Ability to manage: 2 projects simultaneously (Intermediate )3+ projects simultaneously (Senior) Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused UK-based and within commutable distance of North Greenwich / M25 Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available) Driving licence preferred Portfolio Requirement Applicants must submit a PDF portfolio demonstrating sample cladding drawings. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. Key Responsibilities Produce cladding construction detail drawings Prepare elevation, plan, fire barrier, and site investigation drawings Panel and sub-grid setting-out drawings Material take-offs and coordination with the Commercial team Conduct site surveys, inspections, and photographic records Attend design and progress meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and Building Control Liaise with suppliers for specifications, confirmations, U-values, and condensation calculations Coordinate with client representatives, structural engineers, consultants, and site teams Maintain drawing registers, RFIs, change logs, and project documentation Issue technical submissions and updated drawings to clients Participate in weekly internal design meetings Engage in CPDs with suppliers Office & Site Commitment Office attendance: Minimum 1 day per week (travel not reimbursed) Site visits: Occasional, workload dependent (expenses reimbursed) Salary & Benefits Salary Intermediate Cladding Designer: £39,000 – £50,000 Senior Cladding Designer: £55,000 – £60,000 Benefits Competitive salary with annual reviews Company laptop and phone 20 days’ holiday, plus 1 additional day per year of service Paid travel expenses for site visits (mileage, train, parking) Modern riverside office in North Greenwich, close to shops and restaurants Mentoring and structured career development Quarterly office social events Clear progression pathway to senior roles
