Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Care (Female Only) Location: Rotherham Salary: £27,500 About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our children’s residential service in Rotherham, supporting a female young person in a nurturing, structured environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference, providing high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, emotional wellbeing and positive development. You will work closely with families and multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the young person. The role involves a combination of hands-on support and administrative responsibilities, requiring strong communication skills, resilience and a proactive approach. This is a female-only role due to the specific needs of the young person. Key Responsibilities • Support the young person with daily living activities, promoting independence and confidence, • Develop and implement tailored care plans to meet individual needs, • Provide support during educational, recreational, and social activities, • Transport the young person to school, appointments, and activities as required, • Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and daily logs in line with organisational policies, • Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and external professionals, • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and nurturing home environment, • Utilise IT systems for documentation, reporting, and communication, • Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the welfare of the young person at all times Requirements • Minimum age of 22 years (in line with Ofsted regulations), • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent), • At least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare supporting young people, • Full UK manual driving licence, • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team About You • Compassionate, patient, and resilient, • Passionate about supporting children’s growth and development, • Able to build positive, trusting relationships, • Organised with strong attention to detail, • Committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred care What We Offer • Competitive starting salary of £27,500, • Opportunity to make a genuine difference in a young person’s life, • Supportive team environment, • Ongoing training and professional development If you are passionate about supporting children and want to be part of a dedicated and caring team, we would love to hear from you
