The University Hospitality Department provides catering services to students, staff, and external visitors throughout the academic year and into the summer months. There are numerous outlets run by the hospitality department offering a wide range of food and drink options. We are currently seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant who can be flexible to work a variety of shifts (including weekday lunchtimes, evenings and weekends). This permanent post is with West Hospitality’s Food Direct team. In this varied and active role, you will help deliver catering for meetings and events across the University. You will also support the operation of a small café. If you enjoy being on the move, providing great service and working with people, this is an excellent opportunity. What you’ll be doing • Delivering catering to meetings and events across campus, • Assisting with food and drink service at events across campus, • Assisting with the day‑to‑day running of a small café, • Taking customer orders and serving food and drink, • Operating tills and handling payments, • Stocking food stations and replenishing supplies Full details of the role can be found in the job description. Working pattern for the role All shifts are straight shifts—there are no split shifts. The role includes five 5-hour shifts, which vary according to the business needs, so we are seeking applicants who can be flexible. Shifts include early morning, lunch periods and evenings both Monday-Friday and at the weekend, on a 5 out of 7 days rota.
