Project Supervisor – Multi-Utility & Infrastructure Projects\n\nJob Summary\n\nManage and supervise all on-site activities associated with multi-utility and infrastructure projects. Lead direct labour and subcontractor teams, resolve operational issues, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with programme requirements.\n\nWork closely with client representatives, site management teams, internal departments, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.\n\nResponsible for health and safety compliance, quality assurance, environmental management, site administration, cost control, programme delivery, stakeholder communication, team leadership, and operational performance.\n\nPrincipal Responsibilities\n\nHealth & Safety\n\nTake full responsibility for health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance across assigned sites.\n\nConduct regular site audits, inspections, and safety briefings.\n\nEnsure all non-conformance issues are identified, managed, and closed out effectively.\n\nPromote proactive hazard reporting and positive safety interventions.\n\nEnsure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are reviewed and followed before work commences.\n\nEnsure compliance with industry best practice when excavating near existing services and utility assets.\n\nInvestigate and report incidents, near misses, and accidents in a timely manner.\n\nMaintain accurate site records, documentation, and completion reports.\n\nEnsure project drawings and records remain current and accurate.\n\nCoordinate the preparation and submission of as-built records and site documentation.\n\nClient & Stakeholder Management\n\nConduct pre-start site reviews and ensure all stakeholders understand planned activities and programme requirements.\n\nMaintain clear communication with clients, site managers, and project stakeholders throughout project delivery.\n\nDeliver projects to agreed programmes while maintaining quality standards.\n\nProvide professional advice and feedback to clients regarding site constraints, delays, and operational improvements.\n\nDeliver a consistently high standard of customer service and stakeholder engagement.\n\nTeam Leadership\n\nManage and coordinate site operatives and subcontractors to maximise productivity and efficiency.\n\nMonitor workforce performance and support employee development through appraisals and coaching.\n\nPromote a positive, fair, and professional working environment.\n\nEnsure labour resources are effectively allocated to achieve programme targets.\n\nQuality & Operational Excellence\n\nEnsure all works are completed to specification and required quality standards.\n\nCarry out joint inspections and measurements with supply chain partners where required.\n\nVerify site levels, setting out requirements, and construction details before works commence.\n\nForward plan activities to ensure resources, materials, and equipment are available when required.\n\nMonitor material usage and minimise waste through effective planning.\n\nCoordinate plant and equipment requirements with project management teams.\n\nDeliver comprehensive site handovers and work package briefings to operational teams.\n\nEnsure sites remain organised, safe, and professionally presented at all times.\n\nMaintain accurate records of deliveries, materials, and operational activities.\n\nSustainability & Efficiency\n\nPromote efficient working practices and resource utilisation.\n\nMaintain regular communication with operational teams to ensure programme information remains accurate and up to date.\n\nEncourage the recycling and reuse of materials wherever practical.\n\nSupport the achievement of operational and commercial performance targets.\n\nContribute to the profitability and financial performance of assigned projects.\n\nPerson Specification\n\nQualifications & Experience\n\nMinimum 5 years' experience within the utility, infrastructure, or civil engineering sector.\n\nMinimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory or site leadership role.\n\nSMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).\n\nStreetworks Supervisor qualification.\n\nUtility industry safety and environmental accreditations.\n\nUtility network competency certifications (gas, water, electric or equivalent).\n\nFirst Aid qualification.\n\nFull UK driving licence.\n\nSkills & Knowledge\n\nStrong understanding of utility infrastructure, civil engineering, and construction activities.\n\nKnowledge of health, safety, environmental, and industry regulations.\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office and project administration systems.\n\nStrong leadership, planning, and organisational skills.\n\nAbility to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.\n\nEffective people management and team leadership capability.\n\nResults-driven with a
