An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction and infrastructure delivery environment. The Senior QS will take responsibility for the commercial management of one or more projects, ensuring cost control, value optimisation, and effective contractual administration throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers exposure to complex, high-value projects and the opportunity to play a key role in commercial leadership and team development. Key Responsibilities Commercial Management • Lead the commercial management of projects from pre-contract through to final account, • Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting, • Produce accurate cost value reconciliations (CVR) and commercial reports, • Administer contracts in line with agreed terms and conditions (e.g. NEC, JCT, bespoke forms), • Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities, • Prepare, submit, and negotiate variations, claims, interim applications, and final accounts, • Lead procurement activities in accordance with company procedures, • Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including valuations, payments, and final accounts, • Act as the key commercial interface with internal project teams and external stakeholders, • Provide commercial advice and guidance to site and project teams, • Support, mentor, and develop Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors, • Promote commercial best practice and continuous improvement, • Promote a strong health and safety culture within all commercial activities, • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, sustainability objectives, and responsible business practices Skills & Experience Essential • Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role within a main contracting or infrastructure environment, • Strong working knowledge of construction contracts (NEC preferred), • Excellent commercial, contractual, and financial management skills, • Experience managing complex or high-value projects, • Experience within a Tier 1 or large main contractor environment, • Chartered status or working towards chartership (RICS, CIOB, ICES), • Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline

Salary: £41,064 - £46,049Work hours: Office Hours Monday to Friday, Full Time ABOUT THE ROLE Working as part of multi-disciplinary teams, you will support the Principal Investigator and wider team in delivery of research activity on a project focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in Heart and Lung Transplantation. You will lead and support innovative research applying AI and ML techniques to analyze complex datasets from cardiothoracic patients. The role involves data mining, preprocessing, model development, validation, and interpretation of multimodal clinical data, including imaging, physiological signals, and electronic health records. You will collaborate with clinicians, data scientists, and multidisciplinary teams to identify clinically meaningful patterns, develop predictive models, and translate findings into improved patient outcomes. Responsibilities include ensuring data governance compliance, publishing results, and supporting the development of scalable, ethical, and reproducible AI-driven healthcare solutions. The role is fixed term, starting on 20th April 2026 for a duration of 11 months. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 therefore the successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
