Job Role: Shift Leader\n\nSalary: 50K - 55K per annum\n\nOur client is the UK’s largest independent engineering and services business. The company offers a national footprint with strong regional presence to ensure commercial spaces, public infrastructure, and retail sites operate efficiently, safely, and sustainably.\n\nQualifications and Experience required:\n\nMust have HVAP qualification.\n\n· Thorough working knowledge of one functional area through significant job experience & training\n\n· Experience of supporting a business contract and/or providing support to a professional function\n\n· Likely to have 5 years business experience and/or be fully qualified within a mechanical or electrical trade\n\n· Significant M&E Operations Management experience within a business critical client environment\n\n· HV or LV Authorised Person\n\n· Requirement to complete the critical environment training, and to carry out scenario training as per schedule, guide and training shift team on SOPs/EOPs etc\n\n· Experience with HV generation and control systems\n\n· Experience with working within a critical and secure environment\n\nResposibilities\n\n Establish good working relationships with the client Facilities Management Team, to ensure proactive, open and co-operative partnership\n\n Monitor component, system and building performance against target profiles via Building Management System and alert platform\n\n Contribute information as required for regular and exception reports\n\n Propose variations or modifications to modes of operation and or the times of operation of systems so as to minimise energy consumption\n\n Invoke escalation when required through established communication channels\n\n Provide ownership of Building Management System making adjustments to plant and systems as appropriate\n\n Ensure required documentation and records are maintained in line with client processes and procedures\n\n Responsible for incident management and completion of associated forms\n\n Work as part of a cohesive team interacting with other departments to ensure optimum service levels\n\n Input to planning and execution of activities to ensure optimal delivery in line with company and client safety rules and operating procedures\n\n Operate within agreed operational and/or management guidelines\n\n Interact with client or users around specific work efforts and deliverables\n\n Support the delivery of Health and Safety in line with policy and standards\n\n Manage the activities of others to meet deadlines and quality standards taking account of impact outside area of responsibility\n\n Focus of work is predominantly against defined targets but performs a range of tasks from complex to straightforward as listed below\n\n Ensure Plantroom checks are completed at the start and end of shifts.\n\n Non Critical and Critical comms is checked intermittently.\n\n Critical alarms cleared or uncleared, or in hand alarms have been verbally explained to next shift person.\n\n Any subcontractor within the portfolio has been logged into shift log.\n\n Ensure the Shift Log is kept up to date with relative and informed information that proactively assists the Shift team deliver to a constant high standard.\n\no Ensure the Shift Handover Report is sent before the end of shift without exception\n\no Ensure all asset and operational issues are clearly recorded to meet the monthly SLA’s\n\nDevelop a comprehensive understanding of the building layout, functions and complexities through developed practices through scenario drills, continuous assessments, staff training and personal development.\n\nEnsure a consistent and up to date understanding of site and asset operational status, utilising the Building Management System and Shift Team. Be able to articulate full status on request.\n\nComplete and issue authorisation to work documentation to a consistent high standard.\n\nEnsure that all statutory documentation is kept up to date and is available for inspection or audit when required.\n\nMake sure H&S and statutory tasks are completed correctly.\n\nLook to recommend improvements to your work processes by providing suggestions and solutions in writing if requested.\n\nCarry out Contractor Inductions and complete all paperwork as required.\n\nEnsure all Plant Rooms, BMS Room and Storage Facilities are both clean and tidy with regular weekly inspections carried out.\n\nTo make sure any plant withdrawn from service is isolated, locked and tagged correctly and tracked until back in service using both email correspondence and the Shift Log Book.\n\nAssist the Contract Manager by advising of any PPM’s that are outstanding and will affect the performance of the Building or Client Reports, to ensure zero failure.\n\nPrioritise PPM’s to ensure all works are completed on schedule and relevant paperwork is completed to a constant high standard.\n\nEnsure any issued PPM’s and Reactive tasks are recovered from the Shift team before end of shift, and that the CAFM is updated to avoid overdue activities.\n\nEnsure 0% failure on reactive tasks by clearing tasks from CAFM system or intelligently extending.\n\nTake ownership of impending service delivery failures, implementing appropriate mitigating action(s) and engage with Contract Manager to resolve.\n\nWill need to allocate work to the shift team to ensure that they are fully utilised through the shift.\n\nManage shift roster and shift cover.\n\nProduce technical reports as required by Contract Manager.\n\nForm part of the emergency call out response team.\n\nWill need to manage the permit to work system whilst on shift.\n\nWill be required to produce update SOPs/EOPs as required.\n\nWill be required to stand in for the Contract manager as and when required.\n\nProvide Shift cover for leave and sickness.\n\nTo assist the Contract Manager in programming critical maintenance activities.\n\nAssume ownership and accountability of the Shift Team output when on duty.\n\nLiaise with Operational and Management teams plus other Shift Leaders to ensure the most productive use of the Operations Team.\n\nTo work with other members to provide great customer service.\n\nUndertake supervisory role in terms of team leadership, experience/training deficiencies, appraisals, performance and discipline including:\n\n· Complete bi-annual documented 1-2-1 meetings for relevant staff. Monitoring general performance and agreed objectives.\n\n· Complete and document Annual Performance Review for your direct reports\n\n· Ensure the Absence and Timekeeping Reporting Procedure is strictly adhered to at all times by all members of the Operations Team.\n\n· Manage Annual Leave planning within shift team in line with the site policy ensuring zero impact on operations.\n\n· Log in Shift Book and report absences including lateness’s to the Contract Manager and Contract Administractor on a daily basis.\n\n· Ensure the Shift Team work efficiently and safely to complete PPM’s and Reactive Tasks to resolve all client issues within the agreed SLA’s.\n\nWorking hours: 7 to7 continental shift pattern
