Net Zero Delivery Manager Reading / hybrid Up to £65,000 WSH is the parent company for leading brands operating in the catering and hospitality sectors. Our brands operate in diverse sectors, including: • Public spaces – such as the Science Museum, St Pancras Champagne bar and Dublin Zoo, • Workspaces – from power stations to investment banks, • Education – primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and universities A central support office provides financial, HR, IT, Supply Chain and other administrative services to the group companies each of whom retains its own personality and who operate across a number of catering and hospitality markets. Recent acquisitions provide the group with new opportunities and include prestigious locations such as Musee Du Louvre in Paris and partnerships with established chefs such as Claus Meyers in Denmark. Job Description: Reporting into the Chief Sustainability Officer, this role is responsible for developing and leading WSH’s Net Zero transition program to ensure we meet our Net Zero targets. This includes developing and reviewing a mid- and long-term transition plan and translating it into short term action plans in close collaboration with and, to the benefits and expectations of, our operating companies across UK and mainland Europe. You are responsible for collecting, calculating and analysing WSH’s annual corporate carbon footprint, broken down by business units, using an external carbon accounting platform. You lead the Step up pillar and action group, one of four pillars underpinning Second Nature, WSH ESG strategy, ensuring timely delivery of the targets covered under the pillar. You lead and coordinate relevant internal and external ESG reporting initiatives, such as SBTi, CDP and Ecovadis as well as financial, investor and key client requests. To succeed in this role, you have extensive experience of carbon reporting, are analytic, structured and data savvy. You enjoy a fast paced environment and can set and deliver priorities with a strong focus on execution. Key Accountabilities: Net Zero strategy and delivery (30%) • Responsible for developing and leading the delivery of WSH Transition plan to ensure we meet our target of net zero across the value chain by 2040, using a data first led approach including robust reporting mechanisms., • Support translation of the WSH decarbonization strategy into business specific decarbonization plans, working closely with internal stakeholders across our operating businesses in all regions., • Review and update short- and medium-term targets and action plans, ensuring short term plans support the long term goals., • Responsible for collecting and calculating WSH annual corporate carbon footprint (CCF), consolidated as well as by business, in line with external standards and expectations such as the GHG protocol and SBTi., • Responsible for in-year collection and calculation of carbon data and for producing, using and sharing relevant carbon analytics to support the decarbonization plan., • Responsible for delivering the targets under the Step up pillar, including developing and deploying short- and medium-term action plans and toolkits across all regions covering carbon, nature and biodiversity, circularity, packaging and waste., • Lead on collecting, consolidating and reporting data against targets annually. Review targets, suggesting KPIs and metrics as needed, • Lead and coordinate ensuring timely external environmental auditing and reporting, whether statutory or voluntary, including upholding relevant accreditations and certifications, including but not exclusively SBTi, CDP, Ecovadis, TCFD, SECR, CSRD ESRS, Step up, investor and key stakeholder SAQs and reports., • Maintain an environmental regulatory horizon scanning Qualifications • Multi-year experience from carbon footprint calculation and reporting from a multi-site environment, • Documented experience from using an ESG/Environmental data reporting tool (SaaS), • Experience of translating carbon data into net zero action plans and initiatives, preferably within a multi-site, -brand or -market context, • Solid understanding of relevant environmental standards and frameworks such as the GHG protocol, SBTi, CDP, ESOS, EED, ISO 14001, ISO 5001 and others, • A relevant degree in an Environmental subject, • Experience from the food service industry, running supplier emissions and food waste programs, and food and agriculture knowledge preferential, • Analytical, detailed and structured, • Able to translate data into insights and multi-year action plans, • Extensive experience of using PowerBI, Excel and other reporting tools including AI for sustainability reporting, • Able to set clear priorities and manage individual time and workload against them, • Exhibit good listening skills and stakeholder management, • Be curious with an innovative mindset Additional Information • 25 days holiday (plus public holidays), • Plus your birthday off, • Enhanced pension, • Life Assurance cover, • Medical Insurance for you, • Discretionary bonus, • Discounts available on the high street shops, holidays, gyms and cinemas, • Wellbeing assistance, • Volunteering Days, • Enhanced maternity leave, • Secondary Carer leave, • Wedding/Commitment day leave, • Bespoke training and development, including apprenticeships, • Annual salary up to £65,000 depending on experience
