Process Validation Our Processing Innovation Team supports our members and clients with consultancy, project work and training activities in the thermal processing area, including process development, validation and optimisation. This encompasses heating (e.g. cooking, pasteurisation and sterilisation) and cooling (chilling and freezing) processes. Due to the work they do there's an exciting travel element to this role- UK, Europe and Globally! Expenses paid work trips across the globe, recent trips include- Turkey, Iceland, Jamacia, South Africa, Italy and Spain. You will be working in a range of different food & drink manufacturing sectors, growing your skills and knowledge! The work of the Group is firmly rooted in the application of sound science and engineering principles to the solution of food industry problems. The route to delivering this is through a blend of longer-term research activities and short-term contract support for companies. In addition, there is a significant training and knowledge transfer activity aimed at facilitating the application of best practice within the food manufacturing sector. The Group has facilities for traditional thermal processing (including heating and cooling operations), as well as a selection of more innovative technologies, supporting areas such as product development and food packaging. Position To manage and deliver scientific and technical projects for our thermal processing clients, with focus on the validation of thermal processes. The job will involve a blend of consultancy, training, and research activities, as part of a close-knit team. A part of this role will be the ability to develop process validation and engineering services to our clients. Requirements • A graduate in a relevant scientific subject- Food Technology or Chemical Engineering, • Good verbal and written communication skills to support business development., • Demonstratable skills in report writing and data analysis., • Effective time management skills relating to effective delivery and business practices., • Full UK/EU driving licence and status to travel freely worldwide, • A keen interest in the food industry, ideally across multiple food sectors, including heat preserved foods and chilled/frozen sectors. Food Quality & Safety Specialist Campden BRI's Global Safety & Quality Team deliver high-impact consultancy services to clients across the food industry. This role blends technical excellence with client-facing delivery, offering a dynamic mix of research, training, and strategic support. Position • Planning and execution of technical delivery as guided by your line manager or others within the team, ability to plan and manage your own time to meet deadlines.This will be on a blend of contract, training and research projects. All work is undertaken in line with the requirements of our business management system., • Responding to direct technical enquiries with support as appropriate using information retrieved from relevant sources. This will include provision of consultancy and the performing of site audits/pre-audits.The frequency and complexity of which will build with time and experience., • Present training materials as the lead tutor or support tutor, as relevant, on both scheduled and client specific courses., • Design and develop training course materials., • Interpretation of results and preparation of client reports to agreed standards., • Through implementation of business development strategies, stimulate areas of contract, training, and research in line with the focus area of the job., • Preparing project proposals/tenders for clients to a level agreed with the line manager., • Performing internal audits of the GSQ Department and site as required. Requirements • A graduate in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent (e.g. experience)., • A technical knowledge of the food industry (science and technology) across multiple food sectors. Several years (3 to 5) experience in a technical or quality role within food manufacturing or in food legislation enforcement., • Practical experience of at least one industrial food safety management standard would be an advantage., • Formal qualification in HACCP, Level 3 would be expected to fulfil the job requirements., • Practical experience and trained in auditing., • Training experience at least Train the Trainer level would be desirable to fulfil the job requirements., • Good verbal and broader communication skills to support business development, training and consultancy offerings., • Effective project and time management skills assuring effective delivery and compliance with business practices., • Full UK/EU driving licence.
