This role involves assisting with fencing installation and related tasks on-site, supporting the overall progress of various projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working within fencing or construction environments and possess a strong work ethic, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Duties Assisting with the installation and repair of fencing structures on-site Handling and manoeuvring fencing materials, including panels, posts, and gravel boards Using hand tools and power tools safely to cut, fix, and secure fencing components Preparing work areas by clearing debris and setting up safety barriers Supporting with site organisation, including material deliveries and storage Assisting tradespeople with specialised tasks such as carpentry, masonry, or fabrication as required Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times Requirements Valid CSCS Card essential for site access and compliance Valid UTR number for CIS purposes Prior experience in fencing or related construction trades preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided for suitable candidates Knowledge of using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Basic understanding of construction processes such as carpentry, roofing, masonry, or plumbing is advantageous Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials when necessary Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment Strong commitment to health & safety standards on siteThis role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking to build a career in construction with opportunities for skill development across multiple trades. This is a part-time, permanent role working within an abattoir environment, providing cover for holidays, sickness, and additional site requirements. Duties include monitoring access to the site, carrying out regular patrols, checking vehicles and visitors in and out, maintaining accurate records, reporting incidents, and ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times. The successful candidate must be reliable, professional, and able to work independently in a busy environment. Shift Pattern: Flexible shifts available 12-hour shifts Days, nights, and weekends as required Overtime opportunities available Duties include: Controlling access and monitoring site entry/exit points Conducting regular patrols Carrying out animal welfare checks (full training provided) Monitoring and recording weighbridge operations for vehicles Logging vehicle movements and site activity Responding to incidents and maintaining accurate reports Important: This role is based in a working abattoir.
