Systems Architect - PLM/Metrology/Optics/Photonics/Mechanical/Electrical/Engineering Hybrid | £50,000 – £65,000 + Bonus + Benefits Are you a systems engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges? Do you want to lead system functionality across innovative, high-performance platforms? Looking to influence architecture and design strategy at a senior level? The Opportunity Our client is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to take a leading role in defining system behaviour and architecture for a sophisticated product platform. Working closely with engineering and project teams, you'll guide technical decisions, manage risk, and ensure system-level performance. Perfect for an experienced engineer ready to step into a more strategic, cross-functional role. What You’ll Be Doing • Own and define key system functionality, including layout, safety, and BOM., • Develop and maintain technical documentation and architecture plans., • Support design reviews, risk assessments, and cross-functional delivery., • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive quality and resolve technical issues. What You’ll Bring Essentials: • Experience in complex system or instrumentation design., • Experience across mechanical, electrical, and control systems., • Skilled in technical documentation, PLM, and change control., • Strong communicator in technical English. Desirables: • Background in motion systems, optics, robotics, or similar technologies., • Experience in high-precision tools or environments (e.g. advanced manufacturing). Education: Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
