Job Title: Finance Manager – Charity Client Location: UK, Remote Company Profile: As demand for our service continues to grow, we’re on the hunt for someone who can bring leadership and a positive attitude to the accounting services that we provide for clients. We are a Finance Director practice that additionally provides accounting and bookkeeping services to our clients. Whether working with clients, suppliers, regulatory authorities or our internal team, we’re after someone who will keep our clients' accounting records in excellent order and who communicates a desire to help with absolute integrity. With our commitment to flexibility, this role is available on either a 0.8 or 1.0 FTE basis. Save for very occasional client meetings, the position is fully remote. What Outcomes Are We Looking For? • Prepare and review monthly management accounts for a portfolio of clients., • Provide financial insight and commentary to support informed decision-making by senior leaders, trustees and boards., • Oversee and coordinate bookkeeping activities delivered by internal and client finance teams., • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and take ownership of resolving accounting issues., • Support payroll processes and liaise with clients, HMRC and payroll providers where required., • Support with cash flow management, forecasting and financial planning activities., • Prepare and review VAT returns across a variety of organisational structures., • Oversee banking activities, reconciliations and payment processes., • Coordinate audit preparation and act as a key contact for external auditors and accountants., • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted finance partner., • Support the onboarding of new clients and the development of finance processes., • Work alongside Finance Directors to prepare board reports, financial analysis and strategic reporting., • Contribute to finance transformation projects, including systems implementations, process improvements and change management initiatives. What Are the Core Competencies We Need? Essential • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)., • Strong experience preparing management accounts, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations., • Experience managing VAT, cash flow forecasting and month-end processes., • Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and financial compliance requirements., • Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work to deadlines., • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills., • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders., • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a remote team environment., • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, reliable financial information., • Adaptable and comfortable supporting change and continuous improvement initiatives., • Must have independent right to work in the UK Desirable • Experience within accountancy practice, outsourced finance or multi-client environments., • Experience managing corporate and personal tax compliance., • Prior audit experience., • Experience using Iris, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and other cloud-based finance systems., • Experience working with charities and knowledge of SORP., • Experience leading finance transformation and systems implementation projects., • Experience managing or mentoring junior finance team members.
