The Opportunity Reed Practice are delighted to partner with this outstanding firm to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their general practice team in Bury St Edmunds. This is not an audit role. Instead, you’ll be delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors. You’ll enjoy autonomy, interesting work, and the chance to build lasting client relationships within a highly collaborative and skilled team. Key Responsibilities You will play a key role in the delivery of general practice services, including but not limited to: Accounting & Tax • Planning, performing, and preparing draft accounts and tax computations for senior review, • Producing corporate and personal tax returns, • Preparing self-assessment, business and partnership tax returns, • Completing capital gains tax computations, • Preparing and submitting VAT returns, advising clients, and resolving HMRC queries, • Managing CIS returns, • Providing forecasting and projections to support client decision-making, • Supervising, mentoring, and reviewing work of junior staff, • Ensuring work is completed to professional and regulatory standards This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in a firm of accountants who is ready to step up or broaden their responsibilities in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
