Indirect Tax SeniorLocation(s)\n\n • Bristol, England, United Kingdom\n, • Cheltenham, England, United Kingdom\n, • Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom\nNumber of Openings\n 1 Salary\n £42,000 – £50,000 per annum (competitive annual salary) Job Responsibilities\n\n • Manage and oversee all aspects of indirect tax compliance, including VAT, GST, customs duties, and other applicable indirect taxes.\n, • Prepare, review, and file accurate and timely indirect tax returns and related statutory filings.\n, • Conduct detailed tax analyses to identify potential liabilities, savings opportunities, and ensure compliance with evolving tax legislation.\n, • Lead tax audits and liaise with tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and explanations.\n, • Develop and maintain robust indirect tax policies, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate risk.\n, • Advise senior management and various business units on indirect tax implications of transactions, contracts, and strategic initiatives.\n, • Collaborate with finance, legal, supply-chain, and other cross-functional teams to embed tax efficiency into business processes.\n, • Monitor changes in indirect tax regulations across jurisdictions and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.\n, • Mentor and develop junior tax staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.\n, • Utilise tax technology and automation tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.\nEssential Qualifications\n\n, • Qualified tax professional (e.g., CTA, ATT, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).\n, • Strong knowledge of UK indirect tax legislation, including VAT, customs duties, and related regulations.\n, • Proficiency with tax compliance software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).\n, • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\n, • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-technical audiences.\n, • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.\n, • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nDesired Experience\n\n, • 5+ years of hands-on experience in indirect tax within a corporate setting or reputable professional services firm.\n, • Demonstrated experience leading tax audits and interacting with HMRC and other tax authorities.\n, • Track record of implementing tax efficiency initiatives that delivered measurable cost savings.\n, • Experience supervising or mentoring junior tax colleagues.\n, • Familiarity with international indirect tax issues and cross-border transactions is advantageous.\nSalary & Benefits\n\n, • Annual salary ranging from £42,000 to £50,000, commensurate with experience.\n, • Performance-based bonus scheme.\n, • Company pension scheme with employer contributions.\n, • Private medical insurance.\n, • Generous holiday entitlement plus additional days for senior staff.\n, • Professional development support, including funding for qualifications and continuous learning.\n, • Flexible working arrangements where applicable.\n\n
