Pet Health Advisor - Edinburgh Vets4Pets Fort Kinnaird are hiring! Role: Pet Health Advisor (PHA) - a fresh, modern way of managing the client journey in our clinic. Location: Vets4Pets Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh If you love people, adore pets, and get a quiet thrill from making a busy day run brilliantly... this one's for you. The essentials Hours: 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Typically this looks like: • 3 full days per week 8.30am-7pm (days vary on the rota), • 1 in 3 weekends (shorter hours), • Saturday 9-6, • Sunday 10-4, • Flexibility, rota changes and absence cover are part of the role., • Overtime: expected Pay: Starting salary 12.71/hr, expected increase after training and with performance (we aim for 6 months but this can vary) followed by annual salary reviews together which are performance based. You'll need: • Experience in client-facing roles (essential), • A professional appearance, • Confidence with computers, emails, software and digital comms Why this role exists This isn't a standard reception job. Our PHA role is designed to create a gold-standard client experience in a fast-paced clinical environment. You are the calm, capable, friendly link between the pet owner and the clinical team-helping clients feel informed, supported and genuinely cared for. Who you are (on your best day - and your busy day) You're someone who: • Stays calm, composed and kind when emotions are high, • Is warm, confident and professional face-to-face, • Has an excellent telephone manner, • Enjoys problem-solving and finds satisfaction in getting things right, • Likes improving how a service works-not just doing the same thing forever, • Can move quickly between priorities without losing quality You care deeply about the client experience, but you also understand that great care needs great systems behind it. What a typical day looks like Your day will be varied, lively and purposeful. You'll work across two key areas: • Front-of-clinic client care You will: • Welcome clients and pets, • Answer questions clearly and confidently, • Register new clients, • Support existing clients with everything they need, • Bring a smart, positive, reassuring presence to the front of house This part of the role needs a friendly, polished, proactive version of you. 1. Telephony + digital client support You will: • Handle calls and digital communications, • Troubleshoot client queries, • Liaise closely with the clinical team, • Keep things organised, efficient and well-documented This part of the role needs your structure, momentum and excellent communication. You'll also support: • Admin tasks, • Team projects, • Process development, • Day-to-day clinic teamwork Full training and ongoing support are provided on the job.
