Our clients are expanding their commercial team out of their Watford office. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who can share in this growth ethos. We can offer a variety of works including established frameworks and core contracts with prestigious clients within the public, and residential sector as well as our services covering into the retirement living, commercial and education sectors too. Specifically, you will: • Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any commercial risks., • Prepare cost value reconciliations for contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the outset., • Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity labour targets are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives where possible., • Build strong client and supplier relations, to ensure any variations and progress of contracts are discussed and mutual solutions are sought, always., • You will be inquisitive, organised, and honest as well as being a genuine ‘people person’ who thrives when collaborating with clients, trade teams and immediate colleagues. Fostering a real ‘working together’ environment, whilst building valued long-term relationships., • Proven experience in a similar estimating and surveying role. Experience of the commercial management of projects from tender and estimation stages through to final account., • Experience of successfully managing a value of works up to £3 million annually., • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a key eye for identifying business opportunities, and areas for negotiation and better gains. You will describe yourself as commercial, analytical, and accurate in your approach.
