The Role We are seeking a Project Director with a Mechanical bias to lead the delivery of a large-scale Shell & Core project with multiple floors of fit-out in Central London. This is a pivotal leadership role with full accountability for operational, commercial, and client outcomes, reporting directly to the UK Regional Director. What You’ll Do • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a major M&E project, ensuring quality, safety, and profitability., • Manage all stakeholders including clients, consultants, and main contractors, building strong relationships to secure repeat business., • Oversee design development, procurement strategy, and project planning from pre-construction to commissioning., • Implement and maintain robust risk management and change control processes., • Ensure accurate cost control, financial reporting, and adherence to KPI-driven project targets., • Drive performance and engagement across your project team, providing leadership, mentoring, and development., • Uphold Designer Group standards across health & safety, quality assurance, and compliance., • Identify opportunities for value engineering and process improvements. What We’re Looking For • Extensive experience in a senior leadership role delivering large-scale M&E projects (preferably Shell & Core)., • Strong mechanical bias, with deep understanding of building services engineering., • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments., • Commercial acumen with experience in budget control, procurement, and contract management., • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills., • Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Degree or HNC equivalent).
