Quiet Mark is the next generation certification programme and closely associated commercial support to the Noise Abatement Society charity. Established in 1959 the NoiseAbatement Society (NAS) is the only charity NGO in the UK, indeed the world, that specialises in every aspect of sound - how it affects us and how the sounds that we make affect others, with a shared singular remit to solve noise pollution worldwide. Who You Are You are a motivated and detail-focused individual with a strong interest in technical processes, product testing, analytics and data-driven work. You are eager to learn quickly and develop your understanding of testing, certification, and product qualification within a fast-paced and growing business. You are naturally proactive, adaptable, and dependable, with the ability to balance teamwork and independent working. You take pride in accuracy and organisation, and you are confident working with data, spreadsheets, and structured systems to support technical operations. You enjoy collaboration and building positive working relationships, while also being comfortable taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through with minimal supervision. You are curious, hands-on, and flexible, willing to get involved in a wide range of duties as the role evolves. As part of a growing international organisation, you are excited by the opportunity to work with global manufacturers across multiple sectors and markets, contributing daily to a busy UK HQ team where no two days are the same. The Role Product Testing & Certification Support • Assist with the testing and qualification of appliances, technologies, and products for Quiet Mark certification, • Support the Technical Manager in reviewing products against certification criteria and technical requirements, • Contribute to the end-to-end certification process, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking of product status Testing Coordination & Logistics • Arrange and coordinate test days at QM with overseas testing partners and external laboratories, • Manage scheduling, preparation, and logistical coordination for Quiet Mark HQ and product testing activities, • Oversee the receipt of incoming test samples and ensure correct handling, storage, and tracking, • Organise the return of tested products to manufacturers in a timely and efficient manner Data, Systems & Category Management • Maintain and regularly update large-scale databases covering hundreds of product categories, including home technologies and building sector classifications, • Ensure category data is reviewed and updated on a weekly basis to reflect the most current information, • Work closely with internal teams to ensure consistency and accuracy across all product records and systems, • Support the licensing team in updating product information within internal databases and data management systems, • Provide regular updates and reports to team members on category changes, product status, and database developments Technical & Building Sector Support • Assist in processing building sector acoustic assessments in collaboration with the Technical Manager and/or Certification and Building Sector Managers, • Support the interpretation and organisation of technical assessment data for building-related product categories, • Help ensure alignment between building sector evaluations and Quiet Mark certification standards Internal & External Communication • Support the Technical Manager with responses to public and technical enquiries, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided, • Assist in maintaining clear communication between internal teams, external laboratories, manufacturers, and stakeholders, • Ensure all relevant parties are kept informed of testing progress, outcomes, and product status updates Key Skills & Qualifications • Good general level of education. Maths, science and technical degree being a bonus, • Fully competent in MS Excel and other basic software, • Ideally experienced in corporate technology or acoustics sector or similar, • Preference would be given to individuals with technical experience as a technical assistant and interest in acoustics, science, products, technology is preferable, • Demonstrable ability to learn quickly, absorb new skills, and keen to train in an exciting new field of expertise, • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail, • Experience of fast paced work environment and meeting deadlines, • Can follow instructions and procedures accurately, with positivity and in a timely, professional and efficient manner Perks • Salary: - £25,000 - £28,000 according to experience, • Contributory Pension, • Holidays: 25 Days plus Bank Holidays, • Location: This role is primarily remote and home based, however we require the candidate to live within a comfortable regular commutable distance of the ‘Quiet House’ U.K. HQ labs based in Hassocks, West Sussex
