A well-respected Construction Consultancy with a strong presence across London and the South East, particularly within the public sector, are keen to speak with an experienced Building Surveyor looking to join their Sidcup office. Offering the successful Building Surveyor the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects including education, residential, and civic buildings, whilst also providing a genuine pathway toward seniority and long-term career progression within the business. The Building Surveyor's Role Working across a wide variety of schemes within the education, residential and community sectors, the successful Building Surveyor will take ownership of projects from inception to completion. You will be involved in producing detailed specifications, schedules of work, tender documentation, and undertaking Contract Administration and Employer's Agent duties. You'll also carry out building condition and measured surveys, defect analysis, and submit planning and building regulation applications. Experience in party wall matters, DDA audits, CDM regulations and AutoCAD would be advantageous. You'll be supported by an established team of surveyors, and in turn, have the opportunity to help mentor junior staff and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the practice. The Successful Building Surveyor Will Have Qualifications: • Ideally MRICS qualified (or working towards chartership), • A degree in Building Surveying or similar, • Experience with public sector clients and frameworks, • Strong working knowledge of scheduling, specifications and contract administration, • Familiarity with planning and building control processes, • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, • Strong team player with the ability to work autonomously when required, • £50,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience), • 26 days holiday + bank holidays, • Staff profit share (bonus) scheme, • Company pension scheme, • Life cover, • Payment of one professional membership, • Free on-site parking, • Flexible working (up to 40% home-based after probation), • Laptop or workstation provided for hybrid set-up, • Clear route to senior/associate level, • Regular team socials and charity events
