Job title - Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer Location – Bristol/Swindon Area Salary – Up to £55,000 DOE Shift Type – 08.30 – 17.00 (Flexible) – Remote Working (Covering the South West) A leading employee-owned engineering consultancy operating across Civil, Structural and Geoenvironmental disciplines is seeking a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer working remotely covering the South West Region. The business delivers high-quality technical consultancy services across a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects for major UK and international blue-chip clients. Salary & Package • Up to £55,000 basic salary (DOE), • Guaranteed £3,000 tax-free annual bonus (subject to business performance), • Full benefits package outlined below The Opportunity This is a key senior-level appointment within a dynamic and expanding team, offering genuine progression into leadership and management roles. You will be joining a well-established consultancy working at the forefront of the built environment, delivering projects across multiple sectors for some of the world’s leading clients. Key Responsibilities • Delivery of Phase 1 and Phase 2 geoenvironmental reports, • Design, specification, and costing of ground investigation programmes, • Management of site investigations (including intrusive works), • Technical input to remediation strategies and options appraisals, • Logging soils and rock to industry standards, • Laboratory scheduling and interpretation of geotechnical and environmental testing, • Production of high-quality technical reports and risk assessments, • Data analysis and interpretation of complex datasets, • Client, stakeholder, and contractor liaison, • Supporting junior engineers through mentoring and technical guidance, • Contribution to engineering geology and foundation design input, • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and HSE standards Requirements • Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or related discipline, • Master’s degree desirable, • Working towards or achieved chartered status (Geological Society, CIWEM, CIEH or equivalent), • Minimum 5 years’ relevant post-graduate experience within consultancy or ground investigation, • Strong technical understanding of contaminated land and/or geotechnical engineering, • Experience managing site investigations and delivering technical reporting, • Strong analytical and report writing skills, • Full UK driving licence, • Right to work in the UK, • Willingness to travel and work away from home when required Benefits • Structured career progression, • Employee-owned business with potential equity share options, • Ability to attend networking and business development events, • Opportunity to contribute to management team discussions (role dependent), • Flexible working (core hours 08:30–17:00 with flexibility either side), • Flexible lunch break (1 hour between 12:00–14:00), • Company car or car allowance (role dependent), • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service), • Additional Christmas leave day, • Pension contribution (5%), • Private medical cover (BUPA), • Simply Health scheme, • Employee assistance and counselling support service, • Professional membership and qualification funding, • ICE mentoring scheme, • Vehicle breakdown cover (private vehicles), • Birthday voucher scheme, • Office wellbeing initiatives (fruit, socials, monthly pizza lunches), • Regular team social events and annual social budget This is a genuine opportunity to join a growing, employee-owned consultancy with long-term career stability, strong technical leadership, and clear progression routes into senior management.
