Employment Partner Location: London Contract: Permanent, Full-time The Opportunity We are working with a leading international law firm that is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Employment Partner to join its London office. This is a senior appointment with a clear and transparent route to Equity Partner, offering the platform to shape the future of a highly regarded practice. The firm is in an exciting phase of growth, with a strong focus on developing its employment practice across key industry sectors. The successful candidate will enjoy the benefit of substantial internal referral work from senior partners, while also having the freedom and support to grow their own client base. The Practice The employment team has a broad and sophisticated practice, advising employers on both contentious and non-contentious matters. Areas of expertise include: • High-Value Disputes: High Court litigation involving breach of contract, restrictive covenants, bonus disputes, and team moves., • Tribunal Work: Claims relating to dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, equal pay, and other statutory rights., • Financial Services & Regulatory: Advising institutions and senior executives on investigations, remuneration structures, whistleblowing, and the Senior Managers & Certification Regime., • Executive Compensation: Structuring and advising on share schemes, deferred compensation, buy-outs, and incentive arrangements., • Internal Investigations: Managing complex disciplinary, grievance, and compliance investigations., • Restructuring & Transactions: Employment issues arising from reorganisations, IPOs, and corporate transactions., • TUPE & Outsourcing: Advising on asset sales, outsourcing arrangements, and post-deal integration, including cross-border matters., • Sector Focus: Recognised strengths across financial services, rail, retail, and hospitality, with the ability to co-ordinate advice on international employment issues. This depth and variety of work ensures a consistent flow of high-quality instructions and creates an excellent platform for further growth. Key Responsibilities • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Employment practice., • Manage and expand client relationships, while developing new business opportunities., • Deliver expert advice across the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious employment law., • Collaborate with colleagues across corporate, commercial, and disputes teams to generate and manage referral work., • Mentor and develop junior lawyers, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence., • Represent the practice externally through networking, business development, and thought leadership. About You • Experienced employment lawyer at Partner or Legal Director level, with a strong market profile., • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships., • Ideally able to evidence a following, though the role will be supported by substantial internal referrals., • Strong leadership qualities, with a track record of team development., • Commercially minded, with the ability to combine technical expertise and strategic thinking., • Ambitious, motivated, and looking for a clear path to Equity Partner.
