Central Recruitment is working with one of the UK's largest not-for-profit housing associations. Their work includes providing people with a range of support and services to help them overcome barriers associated with age, homelessness, disability or health. Our client is currently recruiting for a Support Assistant to work in the Rochdale area at a service that provides supported accommodation for adults aged 18+ affected by homelessness, including those with low to medium mental health needs and/or an offending history. • 37.5 hours per week, • Working across Monday - Sunday on a rota basis, • Shifts: early and late, • Temporary cover is required until 31st October 2026, • £14.76 per hour (£13.17 per hour, with £1.59 holiday pay) This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable adults on their journey to independence. Key responsibilities: • Support the day-to-day running of the service, • Assist with the delivery of personalised support and move-on plans, • Provide day-to-day support with tenancy and housing-related matters, • Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer records and case notes, • Support the referral and onboarding process for new customers, • Carry out a range of administrative and operational tasks, • Respond to telephone, reception, and general enquiries, • Promote customer independence by signposting to relevant services, • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management procedures, • Work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, and partner agencies What we’re looking for: • Experience working with vulnerable and diverse customer groups or individuals with complex needs, • Experience working in a team and communicating positively with other people, • Experience organising tasks and planning accordingly whilst dealing with people, • A team player with a caring, empathetic, flexible and resilient, can-do attitude, • Able to use initiative and have confidence to make decisions, • Basic administrative and IT skills maintain records Further requirements: In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria: • Current valid right to work in the UK, • Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise), • A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60), • Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process How to apply: If you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration. *Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position
