What you'll be doing As Groups, Meetings & Events Sales Manager, you will take full ownership of driving proactive sales activity within the Business Groups, Meetings and Events segment. You will be responsible for generating new revenue, converting opportunities, and positioning The Cumberland as a preferred London venue for corporate events and group stays. Your focus will be on identifying and securing new business opportunities while developing strong relationships with existing clients, agencies and event planners. As Cluster Sales Manager, you will be a driving force in maximizing revenue across our hotels by developing and executing effective sales strategies. Your primary focus will be on building strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs, and providing tailored solutions that align with our commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. You will lead efforts to identify new business opportunities while nurturing existing accounts to ensure long-term success. In this role, you will collaborate closely with your team and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery. Your strong analytical skills will enable you to assess market trends, track performance metrics, and provide insights that inform strategic decisions. As a leader, you will mentor and develop your team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Key responsibilities include: Proactively identifying, targeting and securing new Group, Meetings & Events business through outbound sales activity. Developing and executing a clear sales plan to drive incremental revenue within the segment. Managing and growing key accounts across corporate, agency and event planner markets. Conducting client meetings, site visits and familiarisation trips to showcase the hotel's event facilities. Working closely with Revenue, Operations and Events teams to ensure seamless handover and delivery. Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and demand patterns to maximise conversion. Managing the full sales cycle from enquiry to contract, ensuring strong conversion ratios. Representing the hotel at networking events, trade shows and industry functions to build pipeline. Delivering against monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets. What you'll bring Proven experience in proactive Groups, Meetings & Events sales within a hotel environment (ideally large-scale or London-based). A strong track record of generating new business and achieving revenue targets. Excellent negotiation, influencing and closing skills. Commercial acumen with the ability to analyse performance data and adjust strategy accordingly. Strong knowledge of the London MICE market and key demand drivers. Confident communicator with the ability to build long-term client relationships. Highly organised with strong planning and pipeline management skills. Experience using sales and CRM systems. A self-motivated, energetic approach with a passion for driving results.
