Job Details (Teaching Assistant – SEN/SEMH) We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school setting in Leicestershire , near Market Bosworth. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to make a genuine difference on a daily basis. You’ll be working with pupils with additional needs, including SEMH and ASD, supporting them both in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis. This isn’t a typical classroom role – it can be challenging at times, but also incredibly rewarding. Progress may look different here, and even small steps forward can be a big achievement. The right person will be patient, resilient and able to build strong, positive relationships with students. What you’ll be doing: • Supporting students in lessons and on a 1:1 basis, • Assisting the teacher with classroom activities and behaviour management, • Helping students stay engaged and focused on their learning, • Supporting students’ social and emotional development, • Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment What we’re looking for: • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to get involved, • Strong communication and teamwork skills, • Experience working with children or young people (school-based preferred but not essential), • An interest in SEN, SEMH or supporting vulnerable learners, • Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure What’s on offer: • Salary up to £27,528, • Full-time, permanent role, • Ongoing training and development, • Supportive team environment, • Opportunity to build a long-term career in education This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into education or develop their experience within a specialist setting.
