Head of Human Resources \n Salary: £55,000 per annumHours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year \n We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of Human Resources to lead our HR function and play a key role within the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive HR professional who is just as comfortable managing strategic people initiatives as they are rolling up their sleeves and supporting day-to-day HR operations. \n Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and managers across the organisation, you will provide expert HR leadership, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the delivery of a professional, efficient and compliant HR service. \n Whilst experience within the education sector would be highly advantageous, we welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience from other complex organisational environments. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Lead, motivate and develop the HR team to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused HR service.\n, • Partner with senior leaders to support organisational objectives, workforce planning and performance.\n, • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, safeguarding requirements and safer recruitment practices.\n, • Oversee all aspects of HR operations, including:\n \n, • Recruitment and onboarding\n, • Employee relations, including disciplinaries, grievances, restructures and employment tribunals\n, • Payroll, benefits administration and workforce data management\n, • Learning, development, training and induction programmes\n, • Reward and benefits strategy and delivery\n \n, • Manage departmental and staffing budgets effectively.\n, • Produce HR reports, metrics and insights to support informed decision-making.\n, • Lead and contribute to HR projects and organisational change initiatives.\n, • Promote a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.\n\n About You \n Essential Requirements \n\n • Graduate calibre with CIPD Chartered Membership.\n, • Proven experience in a senior HR management role within a complex organisation.\n, • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.\n, • Experience of leading and developing HR teams.\n, • Experience managing budgets and resources.\n, • Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.\n, • Sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and safer recruitment practices.\n\n Desirable \n\n • Experience working within education, schools or a similar environment.\n, • Experience managing payroll processes and HR information systems.\n, • Proven track record of leading and delivering HR projects.\n, • Strong coaching, mentoring and people development skills.\n\n Personal Qualities \n We are looking for someone who is: \n\n • Detail-oriented with a strong analytical approach.\n, • Commercially aware with excellent judgement and decision-making skills.\n, • Able to manage multiple priorities and competing demands.\n, • Resilient, professional and highly credible.\n, • Flexible, proactive and solution-focused.\n, • A practical "hands-on" HR professional who enjoys being involved at both strategic and operational levels.\n\n What We Offer \n\n • Competitive salary of £55,000 per annum\n, • Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)\n, • Opportunity to make a significant impact within a values-driven organisation\n, • A varied and rewarding role with both strategic and operational responsibilities\n\n If you are an experienced HR leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys making a real difference, we would love to hear from you.
