As exclusive suppliers to marine and offshore industries, our highly experienced team have market-leading expertise in the design, installation, commissioning, and through-life support of marine emissions monitoring systems (EMS) THE OPPORTUNITY We are currently looking for a marine service and commissioning technician to join our team. You will be part of a highly experienced team working on the design, installation, commissioning, and long-term support of marine emissions monitoring systems. This is a key service role, servicing, repairing, installing and commissioning of Emsys emissions monitoring systems onboard ocean-going ships and shipyards on a global basis. Your background should include working on electrical, electronic and mechanical systems and you should be comfortable in fault-finding systems that include PLC and PC based software environments. A full in-depth system training will be provided. This role will require flexibility to travel globally to meet our client’s requirements. What you will do: In this role you will • Carry out service, maintenance and repair work on board ships worldwide, • Ensure systems are up and running by diagnosing issues and delivering effective first-time fixes, • Recommend spares holding for customers., • Provide remote technical support to customers, including troubleshooting guidance, • Update admin systems of work completed., • Preparing Method of Works and Plans of Action as required., • Work closely with the Service Manager to help efficiently schedule your visits, • Update inhouse systems with service information reports, • Liaise directly with customers, captains and port agents, • Handle administrative tasks such as reporting, documentation and expense processing, • Contribute to a safe working environment by following HSQE procedures. This is important as we deal with challenging customers in sometimes difficult environments. What you bring We are looking for someone who is practical, technically skilled and confident working with customers in dynamic environments. • Technical background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), • Around 3+ years of relevant experience, • Ideally a technical understanding of the marine emissions monitoring industry and the products and services supplied by the company., • Strong organisational and administrative skills, • Confident communicator in English (spoken and written), • Able to stay calm and constructive in challenging situations, • Customer-focused with a proactive, problem-solving mindset, • Comfortable taking initiative and working independently, • Demonstrate drive and passion for continuous improvement., • Physically fit and comfortable working on board ships Additional requirements • Willingness to travel internationally (Europe, US, Middle East, South America, Caribbean, Far East), • Valid right to live and work in the UK, • Full driving licence OUR OFFER TO YOU • Fulltime job, • Competitive base salary (£45,000-£50,000 per year), • Deployment allowance (£45 per day), • Flexible working contract, • Tools, workwear, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, company credit card, travel insurance, • Comprehensive training program, • 28 days annual paid leave
