Job Title: Occupational Health Technician Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Salary: £26,325 per annum. As an Occupational Health Technician, you’ll be part of a team that helps organisations look after the health and wellbeing of their employees. You'll drive a Mobile Testing Unit to client sites to deliver a variety of health assessments that support early detection of health issues and promote long-term wellbeing at work. Your day-to-day might include: • Carrying out health surveillance tests such as: • Audiometry (hearing tests), • Spirometry (lung function tests), • Skin prick allergy testing, • Vision screening, • Venepuncture (blood draws) – we’ll give you full training • Preparing and maintaining equipment to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely, • Identifying results that need follow-up and escalating them to our clinical team, • Supporting health promotion initiatives, like wellness events or wellbeing campaigns, • Helping to improve processes, ensuring we keep our service efficient, effective, and patient-focused This role is a great opportunity to get hands-on clinical experience, develop your skills, and build a solid foundation for a career in occupational health. This role is perfect for you if you: • Have a degree in Sports Science, Physiology, Health & Exercise Science, or a related field, • Have a full clean UK driver’s licence, able to drive and park a mobile unit at home. Additional Information Mobile Units: • Candidates must have a full clean driver’s licence, able to drive and park a mobile unit at home., • Mobile units are 3.5 tons, a special licence is not required., • All MU drivers will be provided with driver familiarisation training., • Employment with Medigold is subject to the individual undergoing a DBS check and evidence of Right to Work in the UK., • Preference will be given to experienced OHT’s at a salary of £26,325 per annum exclusive of overtime which can take earnings up to 33K per annum (calculations based on 8 – 9 hrs OT per week)., • Inexperienced candidates who have suitable transferable skills would be; a degree in Sports Science, emergency medical technicians or those with a nursing background., • Start and finish times are dependent on our client needs which can be a mixture of early, usual or late starts and some shift work between the hours of 11pm and 6am paid at a higher rate., • Core hours are 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours x 5 days per week)., • Overtime is usually made up of travel time to and from site and paid at a higher rate.
