Procurement Manager – Somerset – Up to £110,000 DOE Plus excellent benefits About the Role A leading engineering and maintenance organisation is recruiting a Procurement Supply Manager / Procurement Manager / Supply Chain Manager to support a major infrastructure / engineering project in Somerset. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in project procurement, engineering, construction, nuclear, energy, oil & gas, utilities, or industrial services. As Procurement Supply Manager, you will manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including sourcing equipment, materials, plant, and subcontract services, ensuring delivery to cost, quality, and programme targets. You will work within a cross-functional project team (Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, HSE, Project Delivery) and act as the single point of contact for procurement activities. Full time permanent role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday The Procurement Manager Responsibilities: • Manage end-to-end procurement / purchasing lifecycle, • Lead tendering, supplier engagement, bid evaluation, and contract award, • Develop and implement procurement strategy and sourcing strategy, • Lead commercial negotiations and supplier negotiations, • Support contract management and contract formation (NEC contracts desirable), • Manage supplier performance and vendor management, • Ensure on-time delivery of materials, plant, equipment, and subcontractors, • Identify and mitigate procurement risk and supply chain risk, • Ensure procurement compliance, governance, and audit traceability, • Coordinate priority delivery schedules and project timelines, • Engage with clients and stakeholders for supplier approvals, • Lead procurement meetings and reporting The successful candidate: • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager / Supply Chain Manager / Project Procurement Manager within the engineering, construction, infrastructure, nuclear, energy, or oil & gas sectors, • Strong knowledge of procurement systems, sourcing, and purchasing processes, • Experience with NEC contracts or similar contract frameworks, • Experience procuring plant, equipment, materials, and subcontract services, • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, • Experience in supplier management and contract management, • CIPS qualified, • Experience in change management and continuous improvement, • Strong client-facing and people management skills, • CCNSG or CSCS MAPS, • Ability to pass SC Clearance
