Fabrication/Welder \n Location: Birmingham \n Salary: Competitive + Over time (when required) \n Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week \n Hours: Monday to Thursday 0730 – 1600, Friday \n Company Description \n McGeoch Technology Ltd. is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham and due to their current projected growth, we are now looking to recruit for the position of Fabrication / Welder. The successful applicant will be based at our client's production facility in Birmingham city centre. \n The Role \n Reporting to the Production Manager as part of the Fabrication / Welder team, your responsibilities will be preparation and welding of mild steel, Aluminium, Stainless steel, thicknesses of material will range from 1mm - 10mm. \n Your duties will include but not be limited to the following; \n Key Area & Responsibilities \n Technical Duties \n\n • Fabrication of Mild steel, Stainless-steel & Aluminium components as required ensuring that the highest standards in finish and tolerances, in accordance with information supplied, are achieved using sound “trade” methods.\n, • Must hold the following accreditations, BS EN ISO 15614 -1 & BS EN ISO and approved to weld Butt, Fillet and plug.\n, • Weld components and framework using a TIG & MIG welding processes.\n, • Position align and fit parts according to specifications.\n, • Grind, sand, polish and detail fabrications to required finish using hand and power tools to a high standard.\n, • Measure and examine completed work to verify conformance to specifications.\n, • All Fabrications tasks are to be completed in the agreed (quoted) time frames or better.\n, • Operation of manual machine tools, as part of the fabrication process when required.\n, • Machines to be kept in a tidy and well-maintained manner, which would require maintenance be undertaken from time to time.\n, • Ensure that the supply of consumables, i.e. gas, welding wire etc. does not run which could affect the job.\n, • Work with the Manager to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.\n, • Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.\n, • Display flexibility to work in other departments and overtime as necessary to assist the company in meeting production goals.\n, • Liaise with design team and give input into new designs.\n, • Complete administrative tasks as required.\n, • Work from drawing without supervision.\n, • Report drawing errors.\n\n Competencies \n\n • Proven knowledge and experience of Industrial Fabrication.\n, • Significant Industry exposure.\n, • BS EN ISO 15614 -1 & BS EN ISO accreditation (in date)\n, • Knowledge of metal finishing techniques.\n, • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, weld procedures and work instructions.\n, • Ability to recognise welding symbols and specifications.\n, • Be customer and results focused, have integrity, and be a proven team-player.\n\n To Apply \n If you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for Mcgeoch Technology Ltd, please do not hesitate to apply.
