A Senior Support Worker provides high-quality, person-centred care to Ofsted 16-17 young people while leading a team of support staff. Key responsibilities include mentoring staff, developing pathway plan, risk assessment weekly progress notes, observing young people to take their medication, ensuring safety compliance, and deputizing for managers. Promoting independence and dignity, often acting as a role model of young people Supervising support workers, conducting staff meetings, training new starters, and mentoring team members to ensure best practices. Person-Centred Support: Developing, reviewing, and implementing personalized support plans, ensuring care promotes independence and dignity of young people. Direct Support: Delivering direct support, including budgeting, cooking, room health and safety checks, laundry, school home work, appointments to health/education appointments and medication safely. Operational Support: Assisting managers with day-to-day operations, auditing records, and maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies like Ofsted. Safeguarding: Ensuring individuals are safe from harm and following safeguarding/whistleblowing policies.
