A Snapshot of Your Day As Design Team Leader in Grid Solutions (GA’s & Interfacing), you’ll\nlead daily briefings, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and oversee the\ndelivery of HV Substation Protection Engineering documentation. A key part of\nthe role involves mentoring, conducting performance evaluations, providing\ntechnical guidance, and fostering a collaborative environment. You’ll also\ncontribute to strategic planning, aligning design initiatives with long-term\ngoals, while managing multiple projects, liaising with clients, and ensuring\nalignment with budget, timelines, and compliance standards. How You’ll Make an Impact • Lead\na small team and collaborate with design subcontractors to deliver engineering\noutputs for panel manufacture and site construction, while supporting team\ndevelopment and training., • Manage\nmultiple project deliverables, resolving technical and scheduling issues, and\nfostering a proactive, motivated team environment., • Ensure\nquality and efficiency by implementing design change control processes,\naddressing non-conformances, and allocating resources to meet performance\ntargets., • Prioritise\nworkloads and maintain compliance with company procedures to meet deadlines and\nquality standards., • Build\nstrong client relationships by attending meetings, communicating effectively,\nand contributing to continuous improvement initiatives., • Drive\ninnovation through new tools, design improvements, and coaching of trainees and\napprentices, while recognising achievements and supporting business improvement\nefforts. What You Bring • ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering with proven experience in Electricity\nTransmission and Distribution, including 2 years in UK Transmission Systems,\nand familiarity with current standards, technologies, and sustainability\npractices., • Proven leadership in resolving technical issues, coordinating design\nsolutions, supporting recruitment, and promoting safe working practices in line\nwith company policies., • Strong technical expertise in automated panel and cable design tools\n(e.g., Engineering Base, Elecdes, Eplan), with experience reviewing key\nengineering documents and applying health and safety standards., • Effective communicator with solid project management skills, a flexible\napproach to problem-solving, and a commitment to innovation and continuous\nimprovement.
