Senior / Principal Civil Engineer Cardiff Paying up to £55,000 depending on experience We are looking for bright, enthusiastic, and open-minded individuals to join our client’s friendly team in Cardiff to help lead their Drainage Infrastructure team. Working within a dynamic team and overseen by an Associate Director, you will assist in leading the delivery of the Civil Engineering design on a range of challenging projects across the infrastructure sector with a focus on Sustainable Urban Drainage and conventional surface water drainage design. Benefits • Agile/flexible working to support the personal lives of staff, • 24 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays, 3/4 are mandated to be taken at Christmas when the office shuts down), • Additional one-day annual leave allowance for every 5 years in employment, • Life insurance and life assurance policies and a health care cash plan (Westfield), • Contributory pension scheme Employee (5%) Employer (7%), • We pay professional institution membership fees (ICE, CIWEM, IStructE RICS; etc.), • We provide a pathway to Professional Membership, • Formal, external training courses, • Regular in-house peer-to-peer training sessions and regular external lunchtime CPD sessions, • Social benefits (football, yoga, charity support) Skills / Qualifications Required • 7+ years’ experience with surface, and foul water design and/or construction to Sewers for Adoption and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, • Civil Engineering degree – Preferably a Masters, • Have or be close to completion of Professional Qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, • Adept at 3D design and modelling using software such as MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, Civils 3D, and Autodesk ICM, • Water Authority statutory approval processes such as S104, S106 etc, • SuDS Approval Body approval, • Awareness of National Planning Policy and Infrastructure design requirements relating to flood risk management, • Ability to manage a team of people with varying levels of experience and provide the technical support and resource planning in line with our Integrated Management Systems required to deliver our projects, • Ability to manage concurrent projects ensuring the prioritisation of tasks and deliverables to ensure effective client delivery, • Ability to create and maintain relationships with statutory bodies such as Natural Resources Wales and Environment Agency, • Ability to work using own initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
