Job Description Position Overview E&M, PLLC is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to work directly alongside the Firm Partner in delivering high-level financial leadership to our priority clients. This is not a traditional internal CFO role. This position serves as a strategic advisor and financial leader for complex client businesses while also strengthening and mentoring our internal Finance (Bookkeeping) Team. We are looking for a CFO who is proactive and future-focused, someone who continually evaluates how to make the firm better, more efficient, and more advanced. The ideal candidate is energized by innovation and actively seeks opportunities to improve systems, implement new technology, streamline processes, and elevate the overall quality and efficiency of the work we provide to our clients. This role requires both high-level strategic thinking and hands-on technical expertise. Key Responsibilities Client Advisory & Financial Leadership • Work directly with the Firm Partner to serve priority clients with complex and challenging businesses., • Act as a strategic financial advisor, helping clients interpret financial data and make informed business decisions., • Develop and oversee advanced financial reporting, including:, • Cash flow projections and forecasting, • Budgeting and financial modeling, • Profitability analysis, • KPI dashboards and management reporting, • Identify financial risks, operational inefficiencies, and opportunities for growth., • Present financial insights clearly and confidently to business owners and leadership teams., • Collaborate with the Finance Manager (Bookkeeping Manager) to review financial projects for accuracy and completeness., • Ensure financial reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with accounting standards., • Oversee complex accounting treatments and ensure proper coding of transactions., • Review month-end and year-end processes for priority clients., • Train and mentor the Finance (Bookkeeping) Team in:, • Accurate bookkeeping practices, • Proper transaction coding, • Financial statement preparation, • Timely project completion, • Develop standardized processes and best practices for bookkeeping engagements., • Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance support., • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement., • Work closely with leadership to enhance team efficiency and client service delivery. Qualifications • CPA designation preferred., • 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience., • Strong background in cash flow management, financial modeling, and complex reporting., • Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses in a public accounting environment., • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and develop accounting teams., • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards., • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills., • Strong communication and presentation abilities., • High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
